Yeah it's a bit bizarre Democrats acting like they won. Yes they did better than expected, but they still lost (the House, at least).

It is. I guess we’ll have to wait to start seeing honest reviews. Today I came across a headline saying something like Democrats win because of young voters. At least in that article they did mention turnout was actually lower among the youngest, they just voted overwhelmingly for Democrats. The party lost every other group…

I guess not losing is a kind of win? Kinda? History suggested that the Dems would take an inevitable drubbing in the midterms, so the fact that that doesn't seem to have happened feels like a bit of a bonus.

My strategic advice to the higher-up Dems would be to start putting resources into having a positive impact in the community. Mobilising the youth vote or the Hispanic women's vote etc is all well and good, but if it results in the Dems just saying thank-you for an election victory and then carrying on as if the compact with the electorate ends there, then they'll just sour their brand - like they usually do! The national political 'debate' is always going to be skewed by the whims and whimsies of the billionaire press and media, but at the end of the day all political issues are local issues. Think national, act local!

Yeah, they did better than expected. We’re all happy they even have a shot at keeping both majorities. But they’ll still be undermined by less than perfect agreement on every vote, and they only just held after half the country lost what had been considered a right.

Donald Trump might not get his party's presidential nomination, even if he wanted to - read here why not
