Our county goes through the signatures on envelopes before the election. Accepted ballots then get piled and ready but not counted. Rejected ballots: they actually contact the voter and you can show up to fix it, if it is a weekday before election. Not sure of election day.

Secretary of state (AZ) in charge of election. But not of stealing elections.

Katie Hobbs' response was: "I don't actually count votes".

The Republicans did well and Democrats are exaggerating their success. They’re only looking at historical results to judge today’s performance. But maybe it’s best to look at their opponents too: they did this against today’s Republican Party, a group which may not share a single opinion with the majority of Americans; never mind what they did to the Supreme Court.

Yeah it's a bit bizarre Democrats acting like they won. Yes they did better than expected, but they still lost (the House, at least).

But that is what happens every midterm. Clinton may have had less, but mostly presidents get 2 years to do stuff.

That's nice. But they lost.

In practical terms, it means continual disruption of the remaining 2 years of the Biden administration, as well as continual turmoil in both parties as to the presidential candidates in '24...

I can't believe Biden is considering running again. He looks (and sounds) like he belongs in a retirement home.

He has to say he is running. It gives him a more effective 2023. When he does not run in 2024 he can say "things have changed." Trump changes his mind on things every day, every week. Nobody blamed him.
