Our member from Yellowknife won't be able to reply until near the end of this year, and probably wouldn't provide a link if he was, so I looked it up. Assuming Daggles read it at all, he may have misread Salena Zito's article because he totally ignored the context. It was published by The Atlantic in September 2016. The author did not suggest what we should do. She merely commented that

The press takes him literally, but not seriously; his supporters take him seriously, but not literally.

Not taking the candidate for the presidency seriously was certainly a mistake, but there was no suggestion that we should not take him literally.
