In that case, if there is any actionable content, one would expect a court case in due course, where rumours and political points scoring have no place...

Re: Media Bias
That does align with the concerns expressed by the Gaetz chap. When he questioned that FBI guy (in theatrical fashion) and entered the laptop into the record.
Whatever THAT means.
It's a bit unnerving to see you and a freshly smeared republican in such agreement.
Tweeting merrily, Scott Adams sounds all conspiratorialistic...

How exactly do you convince 50 current and former intel officials to flush their reputations down the toilet in public?
Just ask?

Your last post was even more confused than usual.

Wherever Matt Gaetz goes, chaos seems to reign. Even Jim Jordan can't explain it.

Re: Media Bias
Both you and Gaetz are wanting a little more from the FBI, and their investigation of the laptop.
They are taking their sweet time about looking into it. It's almost like they don't want to...something.
The strangest thing is that so many news orgs, plus facebook and twitter, all lockstepped along until now. There isn't really new evidence, or I don't think so. Just new talk about it.

Re: Media Bias
I don't "want" anything from the FBI, and I have no axe to grind. Legal action will occur, or it will not. If it doesn't, I suppose the usual right-wing troglodytes will mutter about corruption in the FBI...

Re: Media Bias
It's almost like the FBI is trying to build a case that will stand up in court, and don't want to give a clever defense attorney something to use against them in the trial. As Merrick Garland, the FBI Director's boss, said, "It's our longstanding norm to not comment on ongoing investigations. The best way to undermine an investigation is to say things out of court about how they're going."Cunt wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 4:27 amBoth you and Gaetz are wanting a little more from the FBI, and their investigation of the laptop.

Here's the clip on twitter or the whole press conference on C-Span, beginning at the 25:18 mark, if you wish to hear his remark in context.
This wasn't about Hunter Biden, but the principle Garland applied to the accused in this case applies to him as well. Gaetz is a self-aggrandizing ass monkey, but the principle applies to him too. Have you heard the FBI say anything about their investigation into the sex trafficking allegations against him?
Every American is constitutionally entitled to what we call due process of law, and what Gaetz uses to fuel his conspiracy driven wet dreams is simply that, and confirms what Jim is saying.
Even Gaetz, and the reprobate Garland was talking about, enjoy the presumption of innocence. Hunter Biden too.
Only a total bastard would deny that.

That seems an apt description, but it makes me cautious about dismissing him because of it.

I've been thinking about the Maxwell case. She doesn't get a new trial, was convicted of trafficking kids for sex, and the customers remain cloaked in black highlighter.
But maybe, just maybe...
OK, this is a bit conspiracy-theory territory, but if the Maxwell/Epstain couple were a 'honey pot' trap, those who were victims of their blackmail could now enjoy the just protection of the law.
Might be why none of Maxwell's customers have been 'outed' officially.
Might be why they are also keeping mum about some other cases...multiple layers of victims and perpetrators to unravel.
Is it unraveling? I don't know, but at least the news agencies are less and less credible with every passing scandal. Lying fucking ass monkeys.
Re: Media Bias
Staying on topic, Maxwell is a good example of why the FBI isn't saying anything about Hunter's laptop, Gaetz's sex trafficking, or Trump and Eastman's obstruction allegations. She got a fair trial and was convicted by a jury, but got to appeal for a new trial because a juror didn't disclose he'd been sexually abused on his juror questionnaire. She lost, but one mistake put an entire prosecution and trial at risk of being tossed out.Cunt wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 5:02 pmThat seems an apt description, but it makes me cautious about dismissing him because of it.

And defendants don't always lose. All the work done to get Bill Cosby convicted was for nothing because prosecutors screwed up and used a deposition Cosby made under an unwritten immunity deal ten years earlier. How do you think all the women he abused feel now?
These two cases further illustrate Garland's point.
Of course, politicians, irresponsible media bloviators, and random folk on the internet will fill the silence with speculative conspiracy theories to make money, advance their careers, or just feel special. The rest of us will wait for something to actually happen before spending much time on it.

Yes, but my other point is that if Maxwell's victims were serving her other (blackmail) victims, that might explain why all this secrecy about her customers, now that her case is complete.Joe wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 9:36 pmStaying on topic, Maxwell is a good example of why the FBI isn't saying anything about Hunter's laptop, Gaetz's sex trafficking, or Trump and Eastman's obstruction allegations. Of course, that all starts by assuming it was the roots of an elite child-trafficking honey-pot ring, and that isn't the only possible reason why the FBI doesn't seem interested in pursuing some cases.
The FBI may be mysterious, but the media bias is at least on full display. Most were willing to pretend the Biden laptop was 'Russian Disinformation'. I wonder what lies they have moved on to now...

Re: Media Bias
So, your suggestion is that the FBI is corruptly protecting wealthy people who have used Maxwell's services as a procurer.
Evidence?

Hard not to fill the silence with speculative conspiracy theories, isn't it? It's all too human a trait, and an enjoyable exercise of our imagination as long as we don't take it too seriously.
