Re: Russia invades Ukraine again?
Compiled from twitter:
1) Fascinating claimed intercepted call from Russian officer near Mykolaiv to superiors in Russia. He says:
- This is worse than Chechnya
- 50% of troops have frostbite
- They can’t evacuate the dead
- Don’t have enough tents
- RU plane dropped a bomb on their own position
2)- One column was hit with Grad rockets. Can’t even figure out if it was friendly fire
- Medics only have bandages. Can’t help with frostbite
- No hot stove
- Digging trenched to sleep in
- Commander of 49th CAA told troops on 4th day that war will be over in hours
3)- Troops don’t have body armor. When one complained to commander was told “son, be strong”
- This special operation is a “madhouse”
- Being told not to destroy buildings - it’s insanity. Unless we destroy everything and turn into dirt along with the civilians, nothing can happen
4)- TV says we are moving forward. But we just drive through without clearing up villages. And now we have to defend from all sides because they are attacking everywhere
- They thought this would be like a parade ride
- Our task was to get to Mykolaiv. And we are sitting here

Whats the difference between conspiraracy theory and fact? a few months by the look of it.
WASHINGTON (TND) — Journalists, Democrats, and anti-Trump commentators insisted the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop, which allegedly contained emails showing he was engaged in potentially illegal foreign business dealings, was Russian disinformation.
Major social media companies did the same, and blocked the story from their platforms for various lengths of time.
But now, many of those individuals and entities are eating their words in light of The New York Times report released Wednesday night, which indicated the laptop and its emails were indeed legitimate.
People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity,” the Times writes. “Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.
The Times’ piece even contradicted some of its own previous reporting downplaying the legitimacy of the story, according to The New York Post, which first reported the news on Hunter Biden’s laptop back in 2020. The Post broke the story leading up to the presidential election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
Following the purported revelations about Hunter Biden's allegedly corrupt foreign business dealings, derived from what the Times has now determined was an abandoned laptop belonging to Hunter Biden, criticism of the story rained down. It was widely argued, especially among Democrats, that the laptop and its emails were nothing less than fake Russian disinformation meant to meddle with the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
“We don't want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don't want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions,” said NPR’s Managing Editor for News Terence Samuel. “And quite frankly, that's where we ended up, this was a politically driven event and we decided to treat it that way.”

Does the laptop contain what it was purported to contain?

So, will the US scuttle peace talks?
--US stated position is to fight Russia in Ukraine
--hawks may be encouraged by Russia's early setbacks

Funny how news organizations want to cover new stories more than old ones. It's the news after all, not the olds.
