The cases in the county are running 10-20 a day, a sharp drop. Actual cases also likely less than 50. A lot of them gave up on getting tested.

Covid has a knack of changing plans. With Bron's tutoring, at least once a week a family has rung up to cancel because of a covid case in the family, and today, we were going to visit Bron's nephew and his family, but they have a suspected covid case, so we didn't go...

We are being cautious, because, even if we get a mild dose (being triple vaxxed), long covid is not something we want to risk...

When researchers tested surfaces at the market for the virus’ genetic material, there was one stall with the most positives, including in a cage where one researcher had previously seen mammals called raccoon dogs being kept.

The findings are “as close to having the virus in an animal as you can get,” Robert Garry, a professor of microbiology and immunology at Tulane Medical School, told CNN.

Novel phylodynamic rooting methods, coupled with epidemic simulations, indicate that these two lineages were the result of at least two separate cross-species transmission events into humans. The first zoonotic transmission likely involved lineage B viruses and occurred in late-November/early-December 2019 and no earlier than the beginning of November 2019, while the introduction of lineage A likely occurred within weeks of the first event. These findings define the narrow window between when SARS-CoV-2 first jumped into humans and when the first cases of COVID-19 were reported. Hence, as with SARS-CoV-1 in 2002 and 2003, SARS-CoV-2 emergence likely resulted from multiple zoonotic events.
