Vegetarianism is not a dogma like veganism. We often eat vegetarian but the question is a balanced and complete diet.

Re: The state of the UK
And if you eat a vegetarian meal without using any diary you're also eating vegan! What you object to are moral arguments for veganism rather than the ingredients. But as with anything, the moral arguments are varied and range from the normative to the purely personal - there's no more a typical vegan than there is a typical omnivore. In fact, people make the same kinds of moral (normative-personal) arguments for eating meat - as indeed you do yourself. The argument that veganism is necessarily a nutritionally impoverished diet is hokum. If people are educated about their basic nutritional needs then there's no reason why a vegan diet is necessarily unhealthy. My diet certainly isn't, and non-vegan diets can be nutritionally impoverished too. So the issues here are what sources of reliable nutritional information people have, and their access to it.

Yes Brian... once again... only vegans are right... that's it is it not... even though many many nutritional specialists say they are not and warn against their diet while plenty other life style specialists argue against their life principles. There is no scientific proof that their life style works for the vast majority of humans. There will always groups that claim it works for them. That has always been the case. Imposing their weird ideas on the rest of us is not an option which many vegans would love to do.

Vegans aren't a race that all share the same characteristics. Veganism isn't a monolithic ideology - it's essentially a set of dietary decision, made for a variety of reasons. Vegans who are not aware of thier dietary requirements can certainly have unhealthy diets. Non-vegans who are unaware of their dietary needs can also eat unhealthily.
As for vegans "Imposing their ideas on the rest of us" - seems to me that your the only one doing that here.

Piers Corbyn arrested over video calling for arson
Piers Corbyn has been arrested on suspicion of encouraging people to attack MPs' offices.
The Met Police said the arrest related to a video filmed during a rally in London against Covid restrictions.
He was arrested in south London in the early hours of Sunday.
The force did not name Mr Corbyn however it previously said it was assessing a video which appears to show him calling for direct action.

He's not an arsonist - he's just a concerned fire realist.

A vast majority of nutritional experts warn about vegan diets. If you think yours is sufficient for you and you can live with it fair enough. I dont want to know about or be constantly exposed to false propaganda thank you.
Veganism is not just dietary, and you know it is not, it is also a life style which many diehards of the movement want to impose on the rest of us.

Yes, you've said that often enough. But repetition alone does not forward your point. Why are you reluctant to acknowledge that omnivores can also be nutritionally impoverished? The inclusion of animal ingredients in one's diet is no more an indicator of health and well-being than their absence. The mythical vegans, with some mysterious power to dictate what you are allowed to eat, are a spectre of your own imagination, even as you decry and chide those who, for whatever reason, do not adhere to your own dietary norms and standards. You demand the freedom and autonomy to eat as you wish, but in doing so you also require everyone else to endorse and adopt your dietary ideals. It seems to me that it is you, my friend, who is the one playing the part of the intolerant dietary ideolgue in this particular conversation.Scot Dutchy wrote:Brian

I suppose you ignore their advertising campaigns. They are pretty active here. I never see ad campaigns from the other side. In my supermarket which is close to a cell of them, yep they live in the best districts, has a separate section for them full of processed soya. They also have a separate label on all other produce that is suitable for them.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 1:15 amYes, you've said that often enough. How's your vitamin D level?
Have a look https://www.ah.nl/shop/dieetwensen/vegan
Most of it is heavily processed but who is bothered so long it suits their demands.
My vitamin D is fine thanks. I get it on prescription and take it twice a month. I take on D3 every day as well. I have my blood examined every three months. What surprises my GP is the high blood oxygenation (usually 98%) even with only 40% lung capacity.
