Why would religions exist for thousands of years if people did not find truth in them or want them? No one forces people into religion, except the inquisition and my crew. Lol
Your rhetorical question amuses me. Adherents of various strands of religions have killed each other for thousands of years over the issue of which one owns The Truth©™. Care to identify what the truth is, which religions have owned it for thousands of years and how you can test for the justifiability of such claimed truth?

Why should religions exist for the next thousand years if people do not find truth in them or want them?
Rationalia relies on voluntary donations. There is no obligation of course, but if you value this place and want to see it continue please consider making a small donation towards the forum's running costs.
Details on how to do that can be found here.

Because they want them as they find some kind of comfort against existential despair, which is why they believe they hold truth, since it's far easier to believe in woo than to face some harsh realities.

People were for years forced to attend a place of worship. They had no choice pray to a god or die. There are still plenty of communities like that all over the world even in so-called first world countries. In the middle-ages you would be burnt at the stake for heresy. Great free-will.

Hey, nobody ever said there were no consequences to choosing to use your free will in ways the powers that be don't approve of.

Hermit the Clown,

Show us how Human Rights are SCIENTIFICALLY PROVABLE...

LOL
Show us where I claimed that human rights are scientifically provable. :coffee:
Exactly, to the most important questions science has no answer.
Nostradamus has? Depeche Mode? Herbert Marcuse? :funny:
Not necessarily. But because you are born and made liar the only language you understand is that of Power not of Truth> You understand and fear the power of the Police and the Military, and you obey immediately when threatened by them.

Pascal's wager was not in my mind, but yes, the similarity is obvious.

I pay hairy sailor to do that for me. A far more honest exchange, and we both get a little of what we want out of the arrangement.

Oh. Another non sequitur. You really can't help yourself, can you?

Reminder: This thread is titled "Scientific Proof Of God". You have spent 1622 posts over a period of more than four years failing to supply one.

Helpful hint: Our current thread dedicated to non sequiturs is over here.
