I read Sowell regularly in corporate media, Cunt. He was a syndicated columnist before he retired, and was published in many major papers. Perhaps you should learn more about corporate media before you knock it.

In any event, that column is a rather lackluster effort on his part. The only meaningful objection he raised was the median age difference between whites and blacks, but that is readily addressed by analyses that factor in age to make apples to apples comparisons of wealth.

For example, take home ownership.

Well, Gab was smeared as being where the 'insurrection' was organized. Now it looks like that was bullshit.

So I may be naive, but it is really what it sounds like. After seeing a real insurrection (in the reports of Afghanistan) it looks more and more like the events of Jan 6 were something MUCH less significant.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a distinction without a difference. IMO, Cunt heard it somewhere and repeats it because it lets him avoid really thinking this through.

He kind of reminds me of a guy I talked about Obamacare with once. I work in healthcare, and the ACA has both hindered me and helped me. I'm not a fan or a foe, and I have a pretty nuanced view. This guy had one thing to say; repeal and replace, and he was adamant about it.

I'm sure he doesn't get it either. He probably heard it on some right-wing vlog and got it lodged in his head. If he understood it, he probably would have articulated his thoughts in more detail by now.

Basically, US conservatives think that in order to lift black people out of the bottom caste in the US, you'd have to do it at the expense of white people. So they feel that once you achieve equality under the law, you're done. Pass the Civil Rights act, and wash our hands of the matter. Never mind that centuries of racism in the US have led to black people having far less wealth than white people. Nothing we can do about that because to pursue equity would be punishing current white people for something whites in the past did.
