Actor Dean Cain spoke out against the "woke-ism" raging through America in an interview on "Fox & Friends" Monday. The "Superman" actor responded to Marvel’s recent decision to politicize Captain America, saying he’s tired of "anti-Americanism."

Marvel is facing backlash for its latest comic, "The United States of Captain America," which says the American dream isn’t real.

Issue 1 of the new comic states: "…The first American dream is the one that isn't real. It's one some people expect to just be handed to them… When the truth is, it never really existed in the first place… other cultures. Immigrants… We're at our best when we keep no one out. A good dream is shared. Shared radically. Shared with everyone. When something isn't shared, it can become the American lie."

The former "Superman" TV star said it appears the "cool, the fashionable thing to do is to bash America and to hate America."

"I am on the exact opposite side of the fence. I love this country. It's not perfect. We are constantly striving for a more perfect union, as we all know. But I believe she's the most fair, equitable country ever with more opportunity than anyone's ever seen. And that's why people are clamoring to get here from all over the globe," he added.

'Charlottesville to Remove Confederate Statue at Center of Deadly 2017 Protest'

The city of Charlottesville, Virginia, will remove two Confederate statues on Saturday morning, nearly four years after white supremacist protests over plans to remove one of them led to clashes in which a woman was run down by a car and killed.

City authorities will welcome viewers at 6 am local time on Saturday to Charlottesville's Market Street Park, where the city plans to remove the statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee, according to city spokesperson Brian Wheeler.

After the removal of the Lee statue has concluded, Wheeler said, the focus will move to a second park in the city where a statue of Confederate General Thomas 'Stonewall' Jackson is due for removal.

The city's planned removal of the Lee statue in 2017 prompted a rally by neo-Nazis and white nationalists that turned deadly when a car driven into a crowd killed a counter-protester, 32-year-old Heather Heyer.

Weeks later the Charlottesville city council unanimously ordered the Jackson statue to be removed from another park in the downtown historic district.

Citizens including the Virginia Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans sued Charlottesville over the removal plans. In April, Virginia's highest court ruled the city could remove the two Confederate statues, overturning a state Circuit Court decision that had upheld the citizen lawsuit.

The city installed protective fencing and designated no-parking zones around the parks in anticipation of Saturday's removals, according to a Friday statement.

Asked whether the city was aware of any planned protests, Wheeler said, "an indication of how we feel about this is, we're inviting the public to join us in the park."

"We think a lot of our community members really want to be there to see this happen."

'Haven school board candidate lured into sharing racist ideology with teenage anti-fascists'

Reno County resident Josh Wells describes himself as the leader of a Proud Boys group, promotes an all-white nation state, and peddles false conspiracy theories about the financial plot behind COVID-19 and how police instigated the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

The owner of Wells Home Repair is also a candidate for the school board in Haven, a small town southeast of Hutchinson. He is challenging an incumbent who, in sharp contrast, wants to “meet the needs of all students.”

Wells pulled his own kids out of public schools, he wrote in a white nationalist chat group, referencing concerns about the “Communist Manifesto” and Church of Satan.

In private messages with teenage anti-fascists who later doxed him, Wells shared the manifesto of the Patriot Front, a white nationalist hate group. He identified himself as a former member of the Three Percenters, an antigovernment militia movement, and claimed membership in his Midwest Nationalist Party ranges from Arkansas City to Emporia and Concordia.

“We are advocates of white nationalism and or a pro-western Christian theocracy with a protected white majority status. Which ever one is more obtainable,” Wells wrote.

His personal Twitter and Facebook pages are laced with profane outbursts; tirades about Black Lives Matter, Antifa and critical race theory; sexist and racist memes; Proud Boy images; vague threats and personal attacks.
