Re: Media Bias
Epstein didn't hang himself.
CNN has been exposed as fraudulent frequently, and fully.
Didn't a bunch of lefties fear that unarmed black people were being hunted by police at the rate of hundreds or thousands a year?
That was probably an accident, or coincidence. Not deliberate propaganda at the hands of a team of corporate media allies.

Re: Media Bias
The Right are trying to own 'Epstein' as a trigger word to snag the left - as if only they think the circumstances of his death are suspicious. It's a variation on the 'Democrats are peados' meme.

Re: Media Bias
Those who did estimate that unarmed black people were being hunted by police at the rate of hundreds or thousands a year are massively mistaken. The statistics make a mockery of it. In 2015 the Washington Post began to log every fatal shooting by an on-duty police officer in the United States. It showed that there are a steady 1000 per year. They included all fatalities regardless of ethnicity of the dead and regardless of their justifiability. People generally tend to get estimations spectacularly out of kilter with reality on many issues.
Correct. It's an example of how people tend to get estimations spectacularly out of kilter with reality. I have searched for instances of teams of corporate media allies propagating the notion that unarmed black people were being hunted by police at the rate of hundreds or thousands a year, and found none.

You won't. It only exists in Cunt's mind and the right wing blog/podcast he got it from.

Yes, a savvy corporate media, and their fans, would maintain a solidly defensible position.Hermit wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 10:19 amThose who did estimate that unarmed black people were being hunted by police at the rate of hundreds or thousands a year are massively mistaken. But what about their results? What if their readers are consistently getting bullshit ideas, out of the 'facts' they report on so expensively?

Reality is one thing, beliefs are another.
The Skeptic charts clearly reveal that the farther Left you are, the higher the number of victims you choose. . . Wrongly.
Nearly 60% of those calling themselves liberal or very liberal believe the number is about 1,000 — 30 times the reality of the higher number of 27. No wonder so many of them believe in defunding the police. They see an ocean of abuse when the reality is a pond.

Re: Media Bias
The media sure seem hung up on him. (hanged up on him?)
Not important though. It doesn't highlight the bias in media, nor the connection between the democrat party and their corporate media allies.

Re: Media Bias
We are in agreement once more. Not propagating the idea that unarmed black people were being hunted by police at the rate of hundreds or thousands a year, and found none is indeed a solidly defensible position.

I suspect the idea of a media conspiracy to advance that notion is another example of estimations spectacularly out of kilter with reality.Hermit wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 10:19 amThose who did estimate that unarmed black people were being hunted by police at the rate of hundreds or thousands a year are massively mistaken. From what I've read, repetition is a key factor in people forming impressions far afield from facts. The right wing charletans who spew such conspiracy theories are nothing if not repetitive.

Re: Media Bias
People consistently overestimate the level of crime and their risk if being a victim of crime. In 2017 the majority of people in the UK said that levels of crime had increased over the previous 15 years when in fact it had fallen year-on-year.
