For those who are puzzled by what our member from Yellowknife is posting about, this is about the confirmation hearing of Merrick Garland, nominee to be Attorney General.

And asked whether he would commit to providing Special Counsel John Durham the resources to complete his investigation into the origins of the FBI's Trump-Russia probe, Garland said he needed to learn more but saw no justification at the moment for removing Durham, who has been at work since 2019 but was given the full autonomy of a special counsel last October.

“I understand that he has been permitted to remain in his position, and sitting here today I have no reason to think that that was not the correct decision,” Garland told Grassley. “From what I know now, which is really very little to make any determination ... I don’t have any reason to think that he should not remain in place.”

However, Garland also appeared to suggest some of the issues Durham was assigned to explore already have been adequately investigated by the Justice Department’s inspector general as part of a report that found widespread errors and omissions in the FBI’s handling of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act applications.

Yes, he appears to be parroting the Washington Examiners slant on the hearings, and trying to imply some wrong doing before Garland even gets on the job or sees what Durham has to report.

Naturally, he forgets the process the Mueller Report went through to be sure information about intelligence sources and methods, ongoing investigations, and criminal proceedings wasn't released improperly.

Of course, had he actually read the thing, he would have seen how much was redacted, not that the significance of that would have registered.

I have seen how Biden, and the Democratic Machine, have addressed the contraversies and corruption on the right. I've also seen how they deal with similar things in their own ranks.

If the party in power is damaged by the report, maybe I'll believe they didn't steer it.

Mueller Report Doesn’t Cross ‘Red Line’ Into Trump’s Finances

SPECIAL COUNSEL Robert Mueller's sweeping report into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election does not appear to tap into President Donald Trump's personal finances – a vein of inquiry the president had said would constitute crossing a red line.

The 400-page report, some of which is redacted and unreadable, details various attempts by heads of Russian banks to ingratiate themselves with individuals associated with the Trump campaign in an effort to head off anticipated sanctions from the U.S. and also describes the particulars of proposed real estate business deals to develop a Trump skyscraper in Moscow.

But the two-volume report does not appear to assess the president's personal finances or those of the Trump Organization, including past business deals with Deutsche Bank.

The German lender has been a top target for Democrats who question why it lent Trump more than $2 billion since the early 2000s for various property development projects when other banks wouldn't, especially given his track record of bankruptcy.

Separately, the bank has drawn scrutiny from both sides of the aisle for its role in a $10 billion Russian money-laundering scheme. Democrats, in particular, have expressed concern as to whether the loans made to Trump compromised the president in any way, potentially establishing leverage that Russia could exploit or whether any of that money was laundered through The Trump Organization.

Those concerns, however, appear not to be addressed in Mueller's report.

Just to note: The federal minimum wage is the same now as it was in 2014. It hasn't changed since 2009. Democratic Senator Sinema is doing her constituents proud. I surmise it's the ones who made large contributions to her war chest.
