Our member from Yellowknife did quote from the article. Sort of. More accurately, he quote-mined it to the extent of making it appear to mean the exact opposite of what it did say. I corrected him here, but he has taken to ignoring the correction. In fact, he has taken to ignoring my corrections ever since I corrected this clanger at Mindromp three weeks ago:
So he's won, it's clear, and Turnip has accepted the result a little ungratiously, but put another way, he accepted them 4 years faster than Hillary.
My reply:
Huh? The 2016 election took place on the 8th of November. On the 9th of November Hillary Clinton made a speech. Here are a couple of excerpts from the start of it:
Last night, I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country. I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans. This is not the outcome we wanted or we worked so hard for and I'm sorry that we did not win this election for the values we share and the vision we hold for our country.
...
Donald Trump is going to be our president. We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead.
It's been :crickets: ever since.
No, I was just giving you time. You were going to answer as to who is qualified to decide what you can read, hear or see (wrt free speech)
You asked me nothing in the week before I corrected you on a matter of fact, and failed to reply to it until just now.

I'll not bother with that one here though, I've moved on. Since you know mindromp so well, you can have a go discussing it over there. Maybe someone will want to write with you about it there.
Why? You just did it right here.

And Hillary letting go is a matter of perspective. Here is one.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/1 ... -election/
Clinton whined about the “vast right-wing conspiracy,” Comey and the Russians when asked why she thought she lost the 2016 election.
On what grounds exactly do you say that Trump accepted Biden's election win while Clinton did not accept Trump's after four years?. Clinton congratulated Trump on the night of the election and delivered a concession speech the next day. Trump did neither to this day. In fact, he did everything he possibly could to make the transition from him to Biden as difficult as possible. And on the sixth of January he exhorted his supporters to stop the count of the Electoral College vote. Both said their election victory was stolen to this day.

:whisper: I have doubts that he genuinely read the article. It's not in podcast form, and it's rather long. It's entirely possible that he heard about it from his trusted sources (quote-mine and all) and attempted to parrot what he'd heard.
You may be right. I've lost count of how many faked news items our member from Yellowknife has paraded here, that turned out to be sourced from Parler, Gab or whatever other site right wing nut jobs hang out in. He does not even do the most rudimentary checking if the fabrication harmonises with his bias. Tim Dillon's "The CEO of Robinhood is Ghislane Maxwells son!" tweet was a classic. The majority of the people who saw it actually believed it to be true and spread it around as such. Our member from Yellowknife was among those who swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

What even IS G. Maxwell's family business?
What even IS this 'Robin Hood', that her son is CEO of it?

(2021 is the year of the even conspiracies)
When he finally twigged to the fact that he had fallen for some particularly laughable nonsense it was back to the sound of crickets. Yeah, but we can't be trusted because of our bias and our biased sources. :funny:

You appear to be labouring under the impression that Mueller's purpose was to take down Trump. Did your ever-so-reliable sources tell you that's what you should believe?
Right, no crimes by the President. No 'Russian Collusion' conspiracy.

This IS in the right thread, but I feel funny being the reasonable one. Lets look at better ones.

The Dark Horse Podcasters are talking about the 'rona origin story again. Those rascals.

https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cH ... HQAAAAAQAg
In this episode, we begin by discussing what the increasing visibility of a viable hypothesis for the origins of SARS-CoV2 says about modern science and politics.
Wow, you are running with Sasquatch! Did Spygate unravel? Did the Durham report drop?

I know you didn't read the Mueller Report or you wouldn't be talking about collusion.

But you're right, the Conspiracy Theories thread is the right place for such talk. :{D

Yes, collusion was bullshit.
As we say in the report, and as I said at the opening, we did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime."
This is the relevant bit - no crime.

If you want to insist he will be indicted later, well, ok, but they are busy trying to remove him from office at the moment. All the pundits prefer 'collusion' for their smear, because using words that mean specific crimes make it harder to prove that it was all a political game.

It's easy to tell, if you look at the impeachment, and how carefully they examined every aspect of the Trump team, and the Biden laptop, and how carefully they examined that.

Well, their media partners first suppressed the Hunter Laptop story, until the election was over, anyway. Surely Mueller will come back to examine the evidence for CCP, Ukraine and Russian business ties between Hunter and 'The Big Guy'. I mean, unless the whole thing was just a 'Orange Man Bad' show.

Orange nan, turnip dahl, yellow curry, and you still think there is no conspiracy? Dammit, Brian Peacock, there are whole countries dedicated to orange.

A friend of mine invented orange, back in the 70's. I have an orange t-shirt on now. Coincidence? I think not!

It's funny watching you pretend you understand this, but since it's the Conspiracy Theories thread, that's a plus. ;)

Trump wasn't indicted because they found no crime to prosecute.

No matter HOW hard they tried.

Here's a new conspiracy theory - the media will treat Biden with fawning gentle praise, in stark contrast to how they treated the guy from the party across the aisle from the Dem-media party.

Not exactly. It's more nuanced than that. You really ought to read the link I provided.

Actually, you ought to read the whole report, so you know what it said instead of what some pundit douchebag told you it said.

Or, there's a podcast, which does a really good job too.

What is it you think I'm missing?

There were people indicted, along their way to impeach Turnip. They tried everything, constantly and with ALL the investigators, both good and corrupt, trying hard, they didn't indict him on anything.

That speaks very well for the old guy. I doubt the current Pres could withstand the same kind of scrutiny. Especially if those around him have connections to foreign money...

Some russian collusion conspiracy theorists keep waiting for 'IT' to happen...they are still trying to remove the guy, even weeks after he left office. You can't really treat them as rational.

But ANY time now, Turnip will be arrested with Putin, and then the Amazon/Alphabet/Apple good guys will have won.
