I expected them to give up already. I wonder if they imagine they'll earn bonus points for continuing even now. If so then they really haven't been paying attention to Trump.
The show they're putting on is for the Trumpists, not Trump.
The entire shebang is also a practice run for 2024.

Three electoral votes from Vermont put Biden at 271 votes. The count continues, but he's won the election. Again.

The colossal fuckwit Louie Gohmert rose to object to the votes from Wisconsin. However, the required senator had reneged on the objection, so the Gohmert's speech was pure showboating.

I would not gainsay that. Should the Republicans retake Congress in 2022, this playbook would succeed in 2024.

Yeah, it was the antifa all right. Sarah Palin saw pictures, so it must be true. Trump won by a lot, and antifa stormed the US Capitol to make him look bad. Damn them.

'Fox News Stars: America Had It Coming. Also Antifa Did It.'
Fox Business host Lou Dobbs, who has been one of the biggest boosters of Trump’s election conspiracies and attempts to subvert the vote, brought on Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) and baselessly speculated that this could have been an antifa false flag. Brooks, meanwhile, delivered a barn-burning speech earlier at the “Stop the Steal” rally in which he helped whip the MAGA mob into a frenzy.

And during his afternoon radio show, Trump friend and unofficial adviser Sean Hannity agreed with a caller who repeatedly claimed antifa was behind the chaos. The Fox host added that he “heard these reports that they might even wear MAGA gear.”

“I don’t know who the people are that got in there,” he added. (Hannity would also float the theory on his primetime Fox show, saying it was possible “bad actors” who may have been part of the “radical left” infiltrated the crowd.)

Former Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin, meanwhile, appeared for a lengthy Fox News interview with anchor Martha MacCallum on Wednesday evening, and wasted no time in peddling this same conspiracy.

“We don’t know who all were the instigators in these horrible things that happened today, I think a lot of it is the antifa folks,” she claimed, citing “pictures” sent to her.

Donald Trump has said there will be an "orderly transition" after the US Congress certified Joe Biden's win in the presidential election.

It comes just hours after deadly protests erupted in Washington DC - and after Congress formally validated Mr Biden's November victory, certifying his 306 Electoral College votes.

"Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th," the unswerving outgoing president said.

"I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it's only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!"

Does anyone know 42 outside of Ratz? Has he recanted?

Just want a yes or no. Don't want to know who he is or what he said. Just want to believe he wasn't a bad person.

Obviously the others - Seth, Cunt, and Tyrannical - have pure fascist tendencies so I'd expect them to probably still be defending, excusing, and glorifying this stupidity.

I can't help with any recent news of the flouncer, but he always claimed that he didn't like Trump much, though 'his policies' were great. I don't expect anything has changed on that front.

As for the cops I also think it's odd. I just assumed they were ordered to not escalate further if people could be evacuated safely.
Which I think is wise, but also in stark contrast to peaceful BLM protesters being tear gassed so Trump could do a photo op with a Bible.

This makes no sense. How can you like the cruel policies and claim to not like the cruel person who delivers them much? Is it like one of those things where no one really likes the wants to be or likes the executioner but a lot of them go to see the executions for enjoyment?

There's reports that DC officials had an idea something like this would happen and asked for assistance from the National Guard and were refused. Some say this refusal came directly from the President.

All this is to be confirmed and I'm sure it'll all start coming out soon, but what is known is in the end it was Pence and Pelosi who were left to order the National Guard.

Elsewhere
OMG! Gaetz is saying BLM protestors are violent but the protestors today were peaceful, or at least that Trump called on them to be peaceful. And then claims that many of the rioters today were actually Antifa posing as Trump supporters.

And then on to election conspiracy theories. And somehow talks about honoring the rights of states.

What a disgusting piece of trash.
In the House, we are now in the Ritual Kabuki Theater stage of the proceedings.
And the issue about whether the mail-in ballot law is valid under the Pennsylvania Constitution is dumb. I wrote up a long post in one of these threads about it. The short version is: it is dumb.

Well, it has some basis. It relies on a sort of vague statement made in a court opinion over a hundred years ago that may or may not apply to this case.

This law was passed over a year ago by Republicans who have the majority in the Pennsylvania legislature.

The law allowed that the law would not go into effect for 180 days to allow anybody to object. There were no objections.

It was used (I think) in a small state election. Nobody objected.

It was used in the 2020 primaries. Nobody objected.

It was in place for the 2020 general election. Nobody objected.

Only after the general election and the determination that Trump lost did anyone object. The lawsuit filed did not ask for consideration of the constitutionality of the law for future elections. Or even a new election. It asked that whole the election be overturned in favor of Trump. Which is ridiculous and certainly not consistent with the intent of the state constitution or the legislature.
