Seeing a number of posts/articles about the fact that today's riot on Congress was organised on social media. The implication is that social media should be held to account for this. I'm not really sold by these arguments. It's like saying that the phone company should be held responsible for riots organised via the telephone network. People have the right to speak their minds and then be held to account in an appropriate manner. If facebook et al decide to censor/sanction people for that, then that's their right as private owners of their platform. But to hold them to account for people speaking their mind, I don't necessarily buy.

I think both are probably lying, and an arctic guy pointed out that Bernies fans were pissed that he was robbed again. Trump fans are pissed. Anyone who was better than Kamala (that's EVERYONE, by the numbers) was pissed and likely the Biden voters were pissed.

Maybe there aren't teams anymore, just some angry mobs, nudged along by whoever wants to lead an angry mob.

This one was clearly managed to reduce loss of life. Government didn't want to use deadly force (I'm blind-guessing the dead chick was sort of accidental) so they removed the valuables (people etc.) and let the mob run out of energy. I think, I haven't seen much of the news yet.

I saw video of her being shot. I think it was on purpose. She looked to be trying to get through a barracaded door when shot. Fucking grim stuff. Not nice to watch someone gradually die from a gunshot.

Yes. A better approach is to prevent any possibility of riots starting. That's what Trump did when the BLM protesters approached the Capitol. He called in the National Guard.

The protesters got inside and rioted. Could have been antifa activists pretending to be Proud Boys or something like that, of course. Still, the absence of the National Guard is remarkable even though also entirely predictable, considering Trump invited his friends to come over earlier that morning, to express their lack of unacceptance of the stolen landslide victory.
