Arizona electors went to "debate." (In separate sessions).
It then split to house coverage. All the republicans speak (live) in the house for the 2 hour session.
(no idea what the senate is doing now)

A Republican has just argued that the election was invalid because more Americans were able to vote than would have been allowed if he had his way!
Please let a Democrat point that out...

US Capitol police have apparently lost control of security at the Capitol building, and Trumpist goons have got inside. Reports of 'tear gas' (most likely pepper spray) being used inside the Capitol building. Members of Congress have been told to lock their doors and shelter in place. Trump has
tweeted a lame 'support the police' message, as if that will have any effect. He egged on the crowd before the joint session to count the votes. So much for 'peaceful transfer of power.' A city-wide curfew has been declared, starting at 6 PM local time, a bit over three hours from now.

Capitol goes into lockdown as protesters storm the building. Trump tweets...

The complaint I heard was that state elections had rule changes incorrectly. Heard it scoffed at, but its not easy to refute facts.
Courts refused to hear the case, so they didn't rule on it so far.
Anyway, this is great, because now that Dems are in charge of everything, all the bad things can be blamed on them for awhile.

McConnell does the right thing, finally. It was a risky gamble though eh Mitch?

So what? where in the US constitution does it says states cannot change election practices etc.? Nowhere. The states can choose a president by flushing toilets if they want. During a pandemic, we can order Democrats to flush at 6 and Republicans to flush at 8PM and measure the water. And it would be legal.
The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. And they shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of the Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate.
That's pretty much all it says.

And we had the chance to impeach ("let the voters decide") and after the Nov 3 events we had a chance to remove Trump as we knew it was eventually going to lead to unrest. Pence had the 25th amendment to use.
