I am the only one who thinks it wouldn't be the end of the world if the Repugs overturned the election?
That's just because you are hoping it will cause a chaotic blood-bath, paving the way for the Party to assume an iron grip on America... :tea:

The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,

parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

Senator Hawley agreed to cause chaos Jan 6.

Nate Silver's take on Hawley: "Hawley seems like the sort of politician who will be heralded by pundits as the new GOP frontrunner in some future election year and then will finish in 5th place in Iowa." https://twitter.com/NateSilver538/

CNN
Trump has been single-mindedly focused on the election results and the upcoming certification process in Congress, set for January 6. After losing dozens of court cases and having his appeal rejected by the Supreme Court, Trump has viewed the January 6 event as his best opportunity to overturn the election he lost.

At one point, Trump also said he was concerned Iran could retaliate in the coming days for the US drone strike that killed Iran's top general, Qasem Soleimani, one year ago. A person speculated that could be a contributing factor in his early departure. Trump was at Mar-a-Lago when he ordered the Soleimani strike on January 3, 2020.

Trump has also tweeted to his supporters that he'll see them in Washington on that date, a reference to large protests that are planned in the capital.
In Florida, Trump has been surrounded by people who mostly back his futile election efforts, including his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani and his son Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle.

No, but it won’t stop our current slow slide into it.

Just looking at the states: start at 306 for biden, subtract from that till you get below 270.

...the noisy young men (Matt Gaetz et al) strategy to throw out votes is simple. They would need a majority of senators also to reject the election and go state by state. Which will not happen.

But if it did, congress has no way to count votes or consider any data ina state. They simply need to cast each state into doubt. Testimony of republicans from those states will be enough. Votes received by mail after election is the case for PA (but Biden won even without those.) Because there is then some doubt, there must be more fraudulent votes!

Throw out PA and WI on some basis. They then need just one more state to throw out to get Biden under 270. At that point it goes to a house vote. Each state in congress gets 1 point to vote.

Both the House and the Senate would have to follow through on that. Perhaps there are enough Trumpist senators, but the House will not align with them. It isn't going to get to the point where the House votes directly (one vote per delegation) for the next president.
