Guess who thinks you are unconvincing?
All the people who owe their existence to people engaging in risky sexual behaviours during the AIDS pandemic. And me.
Guess who thinks you are unconvincing?
Well, that demolishes my point that that less than total compliance is not a valid argument against any restrictions.
Hilleman cranked out more than 40 other vaccines over the course of his career, including 8 of the 14 routinely given to children. He arguably saved more lives than any other single person.

Guardian wrote:Only about a dozen British tourists out of about 420 appear to be left in the Swiss ski resort of Verbier after an undisclosed number fled a mandatory quarantine, many under cover of darkness, risking a 10,000 Swiss franc fine (£8,300) and drawing widespread condemnation on social media.
Asked about the runaway tourists, the Swiss health minister, Alain Berset, said: “We are aware of that. It’s obviously a problem. There was an order to quarantine that has not been respected.”
He added: “One shouldn’t underestimate what an impossible situation it was. We had to decide within hours what to do … That things don’t work perfectly in such a situation, that problems surface is a reality we have to live with.”
While some Swiss officials were sympathetic to the British skiers who quietly escaped rather than comply with Switzerland’s new quarantine rules for citizens from the UK and South Africa, after the discovery of a new highly contagious variant of coronavirus, commentators on Twitter were less kind, focusing on the wealth and entitlement of the skiers...

"Sheeple" is a commonly used term by people like Galaxian and Seth. I have not noticed others employing it.Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 1:18 pmA common accepted term for people following the herd. So what is your point?

: people who are docile, compliant, or easily influenced : people likened to sheep James Nichols, who ran the family farm here, stamped dollar bills with red ink in protest against currency and told his neighbors that they were "sheeple" for obeying authority like livestock.
The trouble is Brian we in the west dont want their type of society. Success? They are still not in control. So what are you chumping at? Bloody Ozland and Fernland are so far away but even they cant control it with the present regimes of lockdown and mask wearing which demands that the population turns into sheeple.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 4:42 pmWhat's your point? That accepting the scientific and public health consensus regarding the seriousness of Covid-19 is unwarranted because it ignores the whims of, negates the desires of, or oppresses the choices for action of individual non-conformists? People should be allowed to die from a preventable disease simply so some selfish people can maintain a sense of themselves as a especially unique, autonomous individuals?
East Asia had two novel coronavirus scares before Covid-19 came around, but I guess the relative public health success of countries like Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, China, along with Australis and New Zealand etc has nothing to do with their experience or their response but instead can be glibly dismissed as irrelevant because those populations have demonstrated, by that success, that they're unthinking sheeple who just follow the herd?
The longer you stay out on the mountain alone the more likely it is that the wolves will get you.
