More pardons for war criminals, cronies and scumbags.

Trump pardons 3 former GOP congressmen, Blackwater guards convicted of killing Iraqi civilians

President Trump on Tuesday pardoned 20 people, including four Blackwater guards convicted of killing Iraqi civilians in 2007 while working as contractors; two former Border Patrol agents convicted in 2006 of assault with a dangerous weapon and lying about a shooting; and George Papadopoulos, a foreign policy adviser to Trump's 2016 campaign who later pleaded guilty to making false statements to federal officials as part of the Russia inquiry.

Papadopoulos isn't the only person connected with former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation to receive a pardon: Trump also granted clemency to Alex van der Zwaan, a lawyer who pleaded guilty in 2018 to making false statements to federal officials. Both Papadopoulos and van der Zwaan have already served short prison sentences.

Trump additionally pardoned three former Republican congressmen: Duncan Hunter of California, Chris Collins of New York, and Steve Stockman of Texas. Hunter pleaded guilty in 2019 to one charge of misusing campaign funds, and was going to start an 11-month prison sentence in January. Collins, one of Trump's earliest supporters, pleaded guilty in 2019 to making false statements to the FBI and conspiring to commit securities fraud; he is now serving a 26-month sentence. Stockman was convicted in 2018 on fraud and money laundering charges, and is now serving a 10-year sentence.

Harvard Law School Prof. Jack Goldsmith studied the pardons and commutations Trump granted prior to Tuesday, and found that 88 percent helped someone with a personal connection to Trump or "furthered his political aims," The New York Times reports. Trump is expected to pardon more people before he leaves office next month.

NBC

Trump just essentially "vetoed" the relief package that was agreed upon.
Congress can't amend the bill after it was passed and would have to consider new legislation. And Trump's claim that it contains unrelated measures appears to be the president conflating Covid aid with a separate companion measure that was also adopted to keep the government functioning.
Trump reasoning was... wasteful spending and individuals getting a paltry $600.... He also called out $1 billion for the Smithsonian and funds for the National Gallery of Art, noting the facilities are 'essentially not open.'
He also blasted $566 million for construction projects at the FBI – which has been seeking to relocate from its downtown Washington DC offices, located across from Trump's hotel.
He also ridiculed $7 million for reef fish management and $25 million to combat Asian carp.
So, he throws bait in saying give people 2000 to distract about what he is doing. He won't pass anything with 2000 either, I will bet that right now!

They've got enough votes to override a veto, and McConnell and Pelosi both have a good grip on their houses. Yalping about '$2,000 for everybody' was an adroit bit of showmanship though. Unfortunately, a more miserly sum was agreed on at the insistence of the Republicans.

THINGS TO DO!

On January 20, 2021, Donald Trump will leave office at the end of his presidential term, coup permitting. Here’s what President Trump hopes to accomplish over his final two months in office.

An unfathomably high amount of document shredding.
Sunrise yoga on the National Mall.
Finally follow through on campaign pledge to stand in middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody.
Hold yard sale to raise money for legal battles and recounts.
Award Twitter user @920274749_000 the Presidential Medal of Valor for unwavering support over past four years.
Humor the hapless boys and girls in intelligence by listening to even one morning briefing.
Honor the teachings of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Install ultrasonic alarms to torment Joe Biden’s dogs 24 hours a day.
Get his father’s ghost to say one kind thing.
As presidential tradition goes, leave the country in a worse place than he found it.

Trump threatening not to sign Omnibus Bill and Stimulus boils down to one thing:
He wants no money going to foreign aid, except Israel and a few odd countries that pampered him.

Trump has a tight grip on house republicans:
CNN
One other note: the package passed with a veto-proof majority, but it's not clear what that means if Trump decides to go nuclear on it. House Republicans tend to move wherever Trump moves, so the original vote count may not be operative. Still, it's too early for that. Right now, everyone is in wait-and-see mode.

They can be called as witness against Trump, for example, as they cannot be charged with crimes they share with him. However, I believe the pardon is for past crimes. If they scheme something criminal between the pardon and a new crime, they could still be charged with conspiracy etc. that happens after the pardon.

How long after Biden's inauguration will Trump leave it before visiting Moscow?

Assuming they can't be charged, then they can't use the 5th to avoid giving evidence. That opens up some interesting possibilities, since if they refuse to testify, or are dishonest, they would then be guilty of a crime not covered by the original pardon.

Kushner's dad as evil as Trump:
The woman lured Schulder to her hotel room and secretly filmed the encounter. Charles Kushner, incensed that his brother-in-law was testifying against him in a tax evasion case, mailed the videotape anonymously, and his sister Esther immediately understood it as a warning not to testify. The Schulders received the tape as they were getting ready for their son’s engagement party.
