It would be suspicious if counties in the US were of the same size in terms of population. They are not. Rural counties tend to be much smaller than urban ones. Rural counties also tend to be much more conservative than urban counties, and being rural, stretch across greater areas as well. So, for example, Biden won the urban county Harris (Texas), population 4,646,630. Trump won the rural county Loving (Texas), population 98.

This is why traditional maps look as if Trump won almost everywhere in the US.
