Here is more background if you had trouble understanding what happened a few weeks ago, before the election, when some group of media personalities closed ranks to protect a vulnerable public from an unflattering story.

Prominent journalist Glenn Greenwald on Thursday resigned from The Intercept, a news organization he co-founded, after editors sought to “censor” an article he wrote about The Post’s exposé on documents retrieved from a Hunter Biden laptop.

Greenwald is best known for his 2013 reporting on leaked mass-surveillance documents from former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden. His work for The Guardian won the Pulitzer Prize.

“The Intercept’s editors, in violation of my contractual right of editorial freedom, censored an article I wrote this week, refusing to publish it unless I remove all sections critical of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden,” Greenwald wrote in a blog post.

“[T]he brute censorship this week of my article — about the Hunter Biden materials and Joe Biden’s conduct regarding Ukraine and China, as well my critique of the media’s rank-closing attempt, in a deeply unholy union with Silicon Valley and the ‘intelligence community,’ to suppress its revelations — eroded the last justification I could cling to for staying.”

Greenwald, 53, lives in Brazil with his husband David Miranda, a socialist congressman, and their two children. He helped launch The Intercept in early 2014.

I don't follow him, just remembered his story about encountering censorship. Such censorship has always struck me as suspicious behaviour.

Of course, you guys weren't affected. You all know what the hard drive contained, why it was relevant to 'The Big Guy' and his bid for the presidency, and which business partners came forward to corroborate the story.

As usual, the media's handling of it is more interesting to me than the 'scandal'. I mean, the scandal is huge this time, but the media outs themselves again as to their value. (values?)

So the Intercept, knowing that the rest of the story was important, rushed to get the information out before the election?

Or did they just keep not investigating or reporting it. Coincidentally just like almost everyone else?

Greenwald article aside, it was just an example of the media destroying their credibility, while failing to report something potentially harmful to 'their guy'.

In a way, censorship is a sort of reporting. Your focus on Greenwald who is, at best, a popular writer is worth your time. No need to convey any understanding of the evidence they weren't reporting on.

Those Bidens are just victims of some kind of smear campaign, surely. If only they could clear their name somehow...like if they had access to a public platform, or could grant interviews to an investigative journalist...
