I am not at all confident that Trump will get ousted this time around.

Trump won in 2016 despite trailing Clinton by almost three million votes, basically because the Electoral College skewed the result. This year you can add the massive sabotaging of the voting processes to that bias.

Actually a tie would be really interesting. The House of Representatives would then determine who wins, so you'd think it would be Biden since the Dems control the House. But not so fast, amigo, each state gets ONE vote. The state delegation votes, and whoever wins that gets the state's single Presidential vote. BUT - if it's a tie in the State delegation vote, then they don't GET a vote. So each little state has the same power as a big state, so the number favor Trump.

So. Costs. I looked it up and the last federal election in Germany cost a total of 90 million euros, that's about 1.10 euro per elegible voter. You can vote by mail or in person in a location that usually only a few hundred metres away from where you live, even in very rural settings. The voting stopped at 6pm and by 9pm 99% of the votes (including votes by mail) have been counted and the situation was clear. The official result was announced at 5am in the morning on the next day, but no one cares about that because everything had been clear hours before.

So, where is the Problem in the US that there are so few places to vote, counting takes so long, voters have to queue so long? I thought maybe it's because of the costs. Maybe the US spends so little.
So I tried to find out how much elections cost in the US. Well, I found that "No one knows how much it costs to run elections in the United States."

Another source looked at some states and came to the conclusion that these states spend about 8 dollars per voter every year for organising elections.

How can you spend so much more money and get a much worse service?
