Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Cheers Cunt. My dad's going to talk to the funeral directors tomorrow as they'll probably have some alternatives and options available.

I'm sorry to hear that Brian. I hope they find an alternative everyone is happy with.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 3:53 pmMy folks have just told me that my great Auntie Peggy, who until she had a fall last November was still living independently at 93, died in the old folks home this morning from Covid-19. She's the last of my mum's mum's sisters to go - all 6 of them made it into their 90s, so not a bad innings really and it all happened very quickly. What's upsetting my mum the most is the idea that they might not be able to hold a funeral for the old dear.
The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Condolences Brian.
All my aunts (5) on my mother's side lasted into the nineties. My mum was 93. Her mum was 99 and died one week away from her 100'th. I never liked any of them including my own mother, but that is another story.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread

Things become more real when they happen to people we know...
We are certainly lucky here, with only 70 odd deaths over the whole of the country...

All 5 of our local cases have 'recovered' (I don't know if that means 'didn't die' or 'didn't have any permanent ill effects')
I'm worried now about the second wave, which will be dealt with by a population likely less patient.

Sorry to hear, Brian.
My nephew's ex died yesterday, he was 60. Single car accident, there are suspicions it was deliberate. Nice guy, he was still very close to my nephew and his new partner, I saw him just before all this shit started.
These are strange fucking days.

Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Sorry to hear it. Strange fucking days indeed. Unusual pressures. Be well, laklaklak wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 1:38 amSorry to hear, Brian.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
There’s been a fair bit of crankiness shown by some posters in this thread. Some of it has been close to PA level. Please cool it, folks, and address the issues without showing your irritation at other posters.

I am quite familiar with the logistic curve, thank you. It is of particular interest when calculated in an iterative fashion, when chaotic behaviour can be induced by varying just one parameter...
