Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Elsewhere: I'm still trying to process the fact that human beings who can apparently tie their own shoelaces seem to think that "the best way to protect people from this virus is for most of them to get it" is actually a rational statement.

Sounds like a lovely couple.NineBerry wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 9:24 amThe local news had a reporter out asking people what they are doing outside. He met a couple who said "We are going to fuck. We're looking for a quiet spot in nature, then we're going to fuck there and filming us doing so". It's not illegal, but still awkward saying that on public television
I think only Germans would find that awkward.
China Virus might be a racist label. (and saying that might be a CCP talking point)Hermit wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 10:04 amIn his eagerness to argue it is OK to keep the racist label of 'China virus' and therewith encourage racist behaviour by the rabble, Bill Maher clean forgot to list the advantages of retaining that label in favour of 'SARS-CoV-2' in terms of handling the pandemic.
Better to call it the 'Commie Cough', or 'Wu-Flu', or something more accurate...there are some who are calling it the 'socialism-starter-pack'...too wordy...won't catch on.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Not just German, nothing wrong for a couple to be looking for a secluded nature spot for a little al fresco sex, in normal time, in this particular instance, they are deliberately breaking confinement for a frivolous motive.

As I said, it's not illegal for them, even in this time. The rules over here are not as strict as in France. You don't need any specific reason to leave your home. The major restriction is that you have to keep a distance of two metres and are not allowed to go out our meet in groups. These restrictions don't apply to people living in the same household.
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
That's how it is here. I've bent my running rules to exceed the recommendations, but for now, I can run free.NineBerry wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 3:59 pmAs I said, it's not illegal for them, even in this time. I could even go bang a cute German girl, if only my sweetheart would learn German. Heck, even a few words would be good enough.
I gotta go guys. Chat later.

Why the hell is Spain easing restrictions? There's still hundreds of infections a day. Crazy.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
They have had very tough restrictions. Their easing of restrictions leaves them still a lot stricter than the ones in Germany for example.pErvinalia wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 12:07 amWhy the hell is Spain easing restrictions? There's still hundreds of infections a day. Crazy.
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Italy, Spain and France all have stricter restrictions. Even the restrictions in New York are stricter than the ones in Germany.

Sweden, Netherlands and Belgium are the most prominent examples of bad handling of the situation in continental Europe. Sweden and the Netherlands reacted much too late in introducing restrictions. Belgium seems to have fucked up early containment strategies.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
We dont know what the best strategy is that is the problem. We had no chance to carry out research. We have no way of confirming any results scientifically. Some countries have a higher percentage of elderly. Some were in full carnival swing. The catholic areas were the first infected. Our major source was Noord Brabant where carnival is a major occurrence. Why is Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands bad? Just because they did not go full paranoid?NineBerry wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 12:46 amSweden, Netherlands and Belgium are the most prominent examples of bad handling of the situation in continental Europe. Is a full lockdown the only way? There is no evidence it is. Asian countries are Asian and not European. Who in Europe would want to live in South Korea or China? Full lockdown in Spain and Italy have not worked?
Once again what numbers are talking about? We dont have live wild animal markets in Europe.
This painting of countries black or white is madness especially based on a simple scale. There is much more we can do to stop many more preventable deaths in the world than collapse the world economy for a flue virus.

What about simoly applying the cautionary principle here, being as we're dealing with people's lives and all?
