Also, there's different levels of doing a shutdown. The numbers above are based on China. All other countries haven't really done the same level of shutdown. Italy only stepped up their shutdown a couple of days ago. I really desert fear that the German version of shutdown is much too lax.

The US is very mixed. There's a lot places where shutdowns haven't even started. That's a very bad outlook for that nation

That makes sense. We've been ordered to stay home here, and many seem to have chosen to self-isolate before that.

It looks like Europe is having a bad time right now. At least you don't have Trump too!

Since you don't have Trump should we have a different thread for your virus?

Trump gives a lot of comical relief among all the sad news.

Remember, this is Ratz. Threads in Ratz overlap in a sort of quantum, fuzzy logic way... :levi:

True, plus the election is coming up so I've probably picked the worst possible time to go all "politics sucks", "it's complicated"...

If they still hold an election, I would expect the percentage voter turnout to be the lowest in history...

Shutdown here is different. The road can be closed (ok, there are 2, but over a HUGE area)

There are several ice roads that open up a lot more communities and areas. For now, anyone coming into NT has to share their plan for self-isolation (14days I think) and there is a tremendous danger for small community infections. Some are tiny, and many are crowded with loving families.

Oh, and there are lots of fly-in areas here too, so it isn't close altogether. The mines, for instance, run their own airstrips. Don't know how they are managing traffic (big companies, though, so it'll be corporate)

It'd be a good idea not to invite anyone. Social distancing.

The point is that the invitees could decide on their own distancing or showing up at all.

Press conference of the task force. That room is packed with people. All very close to each other in a closed room. It's insane

Yeah I notice Trump's press conferences are full of people on the stage. Absolutely zero social distancing. Totally different from our politicians press conferences.
