Re: What if Vegans are Actually Right?
Oh come on Brian they demand to be treated as the new saviours. You have to have everything separate that is why I used the Jewish kitchen as an example. Some fucking idiot vegan went to court over a knife that was used to cut vegan and normal sandwiches.
Why do they demand that normal canteens also cater for their weird ideas? I had strict muslim colleagues that brought their own food to the office. They never expected the canteen to cater for them. Typical bloody vegans want to impose their crazy eating habits but they cant justify anything. The food is unhealthy. Understand a simple fact; itis UNHEALTHY.

Lol. The idea of vegans really grinds your gears doesn't it?
Now, should vegans be afforded protection from workplace discrimination, or not? And why?

Shouldn't everyone be protected regardless of diet? Why is there a vegan clause at all? What about the keto clause, the atkins clause?
No, this is the thin edge of a wedge again...

Re: What if Vegans are Actually Right?
This was a test case Sean. The employer sacked someone on the basis of their veganism. The vegan took them to an employment tribunal just like anyone else might do who feels they've been discriminated against. The employer argued that their action wasn't discrimination and the tribunal disagreed. This is how employment tribunals work

Re: What if Vegans are Actually Right?
Not really, but the tribunal decided that the employer had contravened the 2010 Equality Act which protects people from workplace discrimination on grounds of sex, gender, age, disability, religion, politics and ethnicity etc. The ruling now places so-called 'ethical veganism' under similar protection - if certain conditionalities are met.Sean Hayden wrote:So nothing new then.

Re: What if Vegans are Actually Right?
Plenty of people are making money out of a lot of things, but does that mean that the people who make certain choices and/or buy certain things shouldn't be protected from discrimination? Is there a list of these undeserving types, and if so who decides who goes on that list?Scot Dutchy wrote:Nope. I have told you Brian. It is the biggest hoax ever. So if I demand all my food in the canteen to be organic because I am a member of the organic food society I can go to court? Also I dont want my food to be cut with the same dirty knife that has touched vegan food.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 8:46 pmPlenty of people are making money out of a lot of things, but does that mean that the people who make certain choices and/or buy certain things shouldn't be protected from discrimination? Look in the supermarket Brian. We have two major companies supplying vegan processed food. It is a scam. Just read what is on the label. It is not organic. It is processed!

Othodox Jews DO require two fridges and two sets of cookware, one for meat and the other for dairy, then again, any body following those rules that strictly is totally nutters, but we've been knowing that even since Flavius Josephus.Woodbutcher wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 6:39 pmWill it require two cafeterias and two refrigerators for storing lunches?Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 6:25 pmIt's a shame that you suffer so badly under the jackbooted heel of vegan oppression isn't it?

Re: What if Vegans are Actually Right?
Are you channeling the spirit of 42 today? The tribunal determined that an employer discriminated against an employee on the basis of their ethics, politics or philosophy - it didn't determine whether or not people's dietary choices can or should be authorised or policed by others and if so how or when.Scot Dutchy wrote:So if I demand all my food in the canteen to be organic because I am a member of the organic food society I can go to court? Well I understand that that's your opinion, but it seems to me that you're applying a bit of a double standard here by basically endlessly bleating on about how certain people should be vilified and have some portion of their rights withheld because they hold a particular position about what they choose to consume and how they live their lives while maintaining that you have every right to do exactly the same thing on the exactly the same terms without criticism.Scot Dutchy wrote: Look in the supermarket Brian. There's a word for people who apply that kind of double standard; people who are intolerant towards the different opinions of others; people who advocate the automatic application of differential treatment and regard for others which they would never tolerate if applied to themselves. Do you know what that word is?
Perhaps you'd like to answer the question now? Do you think employers should be allowed discriminated against their vegan employees on the basis of their vegan employees' veganism?
