You'd think they'd come up with a more eco-friendly fuel for their explosives. All that petrochemical carbon.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Our plans for the October Festival of Action are well afoot. XR Edinburgh is sending 300+ people to London and those who remamain have planned and organised a lot of outreach to mop up the interest we hope will be generated. Drop-in events with music, collaborative art projects, intro & HfE talks planned for every other day, a knit-in, open bike repair/renovation workshops, static presences round the town, guerilla gardening/greening and re-wilding, and lots and lots and lots of flyering, stickering, and leafleting.

Depends on how you produce the nitric and sulfuric acids, I suppose.

Well, it's hard to completely rule it out in a decentralised, non-hierarchical group isn't it - but all the recent nvda training has been around the London group rather than the staying at home group. The wildest thing I've heard about is a plan to dress up the statues of Hume, Smith, Locke and Greyfriars Bobby. Last night we had a session of media training which was actually really useful in focusing our attention on being clear an concise, which as you know is not one of my superpowers. ;)

We have a system where, if you want be one of the "arrestables" who sit down to block the streets, you have to do the training sessions. I'm probably going to be one of those who stands on the sidelines holding banners, but Bron is getting all fired up, and may do the training. I said that I'd always be there to bail her out... :tea:

I've done the training, though I have no intention of doing that kind of action. It was good know what's what anyway and to understand what arrestables are letting themselves in for. There's lots of supporting roles - in fact the majority of nvda roles are support not the actual arrestable chaining and sticking etc. I reckon you're skills and experience would be a good match for the legal observer role Jim. Perhaps there's a session you could attend before the 7th.
