About that executive order:

'Trump’s latest plan to deny asylum seekers protection is illegal'
The Trump administration introduced a new rule that would essentially ban Central American immigrants from seeking asylum in the US today, the latest attempt to radically rewrite US immigration policy outside of Congress.

The new rule, issued jointly by the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security, bars anyone who travels through what is called a “safe third country” from applying for asylum in the US. The rule, which isn’t open to public comment and goes into effect July 16, will “enhance the integrity of the asylum process by placing further restrictions or limitations on eligibility,” it states. ...

“The Trump administration is trying to unilaterally reverse our country’s legal and moral commitment to protect those fleeing danger,” said Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the Immigrants’ Rights Project of the American Civil Liberties Union. “This new rule is patently unlawful and we will sue swiftly.”

The Trump administration’s termination of DACA—the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals—program, its attempt to expel hundreds of thousands of Temporary Protected Status residents in the US, and a plan to stop providing migrant children access to education and lawyers, are all being challenged in courts right now. In December, the Supreme Court denied the administration’s request to stay an injunction on a rule barring asylum seekers who don’t cross at legal ports of entry.

Immigration experts say the new rule breaks laws written by Congress and signed by previous presidents. It also contravenes international treaties the US adopted decades ago.
Not that breaking international treaties to which it is party is anything new to the US, nor that issuing executive orders that are contrary to US law is anything new to Trump.

Was the man who tried to firebomb the facility where the detainees were being held, NOT a terrorist, pErvinalia?

Firebombing a federal facility, while armed with a 'ghost rifle' sounds a lot like a terrorist act to me. Maybe you would offer your different description of what he did.

Go and look up the definition of terrorist. The primary aim is to spread terror throughout the populace. And no, that's not what this guy was doing.

So you say he is NOT a terrorist. OK.

I say firebombing a building full of people is.

Why not offer your description, instead of an avoiding stating your own opinion?

That's why some generals in the US add the caveat, "with a chance of success", to distinguish between terrorism and proper violence conducted by a legitimate government.

I'll never get over that one.

It's simple. It's terrorism if we don't do it. If we do it it's "making them safe for democracy".
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I am of course only poking fun at that particular "democracy".

I grabbed the book where I first read about the problem of defining terrorism, and it was obvious to me now that their problem is as simple as their need to define terrorism such that they maintain a moral superiority. That's not a technical problem, it's an ethics issue.

I'm in a Western big city, see Pub, and took a 6 mile ride around the rather urban area. Not really a working class neighborhood. Hippies selling services, yuppies, business people, some people quite dressed up. All in all very multicultural. I'd guess that I did not run into any Trump voters today. Possibly the guy delivering beer to the gas station.
And we traveled thru ranchland some 100 miles East ofvhere. Nothing but Trump voters out there making a rural living.

The country sure is divided.
