FBI director tells Congress he has no evidence of ‘spying’ on Trump campaign
Don't tell Trump. He's in on the coup.
FBI Director Christopher A. Wray said Tuesday that he would not call the investigation of Trump campaign advisers in 2016 “spying’’ — distancing himself from language used by President Trump and Attorney General William P. Barr.
“That’s not the term I would use,” Wray said in response to a question from Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) during a congressional hearing about the FBI’s budget.
Wray, who took over the bureau in 2017, urged lawmakers to wait for the findings from Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who is expected to issue a report in a month or two about the origins of the FBI investigation into the Trump campaign, and the law enforcement tools that were used, including foreign intelligence surveillance court orders.
The FBI director’s comments are in contrast to those made by Barr at a Senate hearing on April 10, when he said “spying did occur, yes,” calling it “a big deal.”

Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
That's the point of Trump - he doesn't stand for anything other than sticking it to Democrats, libruls and progressives etc. I suspect a great many people didn't vote for Trump as much as voting against Democrats because, let's face it, the Democrat brand is wholly defined by the far-right these days. The Democrats have lost control of their business.Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 2:10 pmI haven't accepted that others actually believe any of that. They just like Trump because we hate him so much.

Trump tariffs with no effect:
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/08/china-b ... urces.htmlThe document was riddled with reversals by China that undermined core U.S. demands, the sources told Reuters.
In each of the seven chapters of the draft trade deal, China had deleted its commitments to change laws to resolve core complaints that caused the United States to launch a trade war: theft of U.S. intellectual property and trade secrets; forced technology transfers; competition policy; access to financial services; and currency manipulation.

You may remember that our mutual friend has equivocated on 'spying' at some length - despite your clarification on the matter. Does anybody really see Barr's comment about spying as anything other than part of the President's cheap PR campaign to discredit the authority of the FBI, the validity of their investigatory role, and the legitimacy of their conclusions; to cast the FBI into shadow in order to illuminate the virtues of The Glorious Leader? I mean, who or what is the Attorney General actually representing here?Joe wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 4:01 amFBI director tells Congress he has no evidence of ‘spying’ on Trump campaignFBI Director Christopher A. It's funny how in the US the laws won't allow crooks to vote but it will allow them become Republicans and Presidents.

Ask the Democrats in the House. They've had almost 4 months to start those badly needed hearings on Trump's collusion with a hurricane.
Trump had been President for 8 months, and his skepticism on global warming and opposition to the Paris Accord caused the hurricane.
One year after hurricanes Irma and María devastated Puerto Rico, FEMA, its federal partners and the Government of Puerto Rico are undertaking one of the largest post-disaster reconstruction and humanitarian efforts in U.S. history.
Major portions of the infrastructure are being rebuilt as federal agencies support the Government of Puerto Rico’s plan to restore the island’s lifeline systems and enable Puerto Rico to withstand the storms to come.
In 2017, Hurricanes Irma, María and other disasters affected nearly 47 million people in the United States. While recovery continues, FEMA and its interagency partners remain focused and dedicated to the continued stabilization and resilience of impacted communities. FEMA continues to support response and recovery from hurricanes Harvey, Irma, María and the California wildfires.
After Hurricane Maria, Puerto Rico had no electricity, no water, no telecommunications and no transportation systems. Today, electricity is flowing, water systems are operating, traffic is moving, airports and seaports are operating and permanent reconstruction has already begun.
Never before has FEMA coordinated federal resources to rebuild an entire commonwealth with a population of 3.3 million people, 78 municipalities, electrical, water and telecommunications systems, seaports, airports, schools, healthcare system, roads and bridges. More than 166,000 homes need repair or reconstruction.
The response to Hurricane María was unprecedented. It was the largest and longest federal response to a domestic disaster in the history of the United States.
To put María’s impacts into context, this has been:
The longest sustained domestic air mission of food and water response in U.S. history;
The largest disaster commodity distribution mission in U.S. history;
The largest sea-bridge operation of federal disaster aid in U.S. history;
The largest disaster generator installation mission in the United States, with generators still installed at critical facilities today;
One of the largest disaster medical response missions in U.S. history; and
One of largest disaster housing missions in U.S. history.
After María, Puerto Rico’s entire electrical grid failed. Nobody had power. In 30 days, 21 percent of customers were restored to power; in 60 days, 49 percent; in 90 days, 65 percent. Today, power has been restored to 99.99 percent of customers able to receive an electrical hookup.
Water systems were inoperable. Water service went from 20 to 69 percent operational in 30 days, 91 percent in 60 days. Today, 99.5 percent of water customers are restored.Debris from María and 41,000 landslides shut down all but 400 miles of Puerto Rico’s 16,700 miles of roads, cutting off municipalities across the island. Today, the roads are clear and traffic is moving.
María knocked out 95 percent of cellular sites. In 30 days, 61 percent of cellular sites were operating; in 60 days, 96 percent; today, 99.8 percent.“This is a massive job and it has taken a massive effort by everybody: the Government of Puerto and the municipalities, federal agencies, voluntary and faith-based organizations and the private sector,” said Federal Coordinating Officer Michael Byrne, who is leading FEMA’s recovery efforts. “This work will go on for years, and we’ll be here until the job is complete.”https://www.fema.gov/hurricane-mariaProgress in neighborhoods, restoration of services
Progress in Puerto Rico, Hurricane María. Numbers of days after María made landfall. DAY 1 - Cell service 4.8%, Water service 20%, Generators installed at critical facilities 0, Power 0%. DAY 30 - Cell service 61%, Water service 69%, Generators installed at critical facilities 148, Power 21%. DAY 60 - Cell service 96%, Water service 90.63%, Generators installed at critical facilities 645, Power 49%. 6 MONTHS - Cell service 96%, Water service 98.7%, Generators installed at critical facilities 872, Power 94.56%. ONE YEAR - Cell service 99.81%, Water service 99.56%, Generators installed at critical facilities 129, Power 99.99%.
But... the hurricane was trump's fault, so....

No such thing as Trump Derangement Syndrome here. Of course he's responsible for hurricane deaths!

Trump is responsible for not sending the national guard and mobile hospitals to PR to treat survivors."It's really really far" was his excuse.

Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
So the largest disaster response in US history was not enough? Within a few days after the storm hit, about 3,000 national guardsmen were activated, and continued to increase in number. And, the National Guard reports to the Governor of Puerto Rico who is in charge of deploying their forces, just like how the Governor of Florida deployed the National Guard when hurricanes have hit Florida hard. Gavin Newsom in California chose to withdraw National Guard troops that had been deployed by former Governor Jerry Brown in response to a "request" from the President to send Guard troops there. It's the governors who determine deployment.
So, maybe your beef is with Ricky Rosello and his Adjutant General Jose' Reyes.
Regarding medical assistance, the Federal government deployed Medical Assistance Teams to Puerto Rico -- https://www.fema.gov/news-release/2004/ ... cal-system
And, FEMA's response to Maria was as follows here: https://www.fema.gov/blog/2017-09-29/ov ... cane-maria
The insinuation that federal response has been lacking is absurd, with nearly $10 billion going towards the island in the first 180 days. FEMA is not a first responder; and disasters are state managed, locally executed and federally supported. Maria was one of the most damaging hurricanes to ever hit the US. Disaster relief procedures and resources are not set by the President of the US ad hoc or as needed. These are systems set up years in advance. While there is always room to learn to be more effective at responding to disasters, the ridiculous bullshit spouted by your ilk, Tero, that somehow this is to be laid at the feet of Donald Trump personally, is more derangement syndrome. If an asteroid hit the Earth, you'd blame Trump for the resulting damages and deaths. No sense in you even pretending to deny it.
