Similar reasons have been advanced for the increase in such behaviour in Oz.Rum wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2019 11:00 amI put this sort of behaviour down to a couple of factors. Just my take on it.
The ‘respect’ that professional people and those with a degree of perceived authority has eroded here since the Thatcher era. Elsewhere too no doubt.
People are also less willing to be treated as part of the ‘herd’ and to just go along with the rules. If their child disagrees with a discipline issue it is far more likely that parents will support them.
Schools are tough places for a lot of kids. Parents are less tolerant of the ‘rough and tumble’ That we used to have to cope with.
There are cunts about.
On the plus side, shootings rarely happen in UK schools.

Re: One in five teachers using own money for school supplies – report
You have to look at which part of the school system where most of the complaints are coming from. In the UK with it its highly discriminated private fee paying system most of the complaints come from the underfunded state school sector. The private sector avoids any reporting as it is bad for business where performance is the only goal in order to attract more money. Private schools have a very simple option; you tow the line or get out. State schools are lumbered and with structural underfunding this results in treating more and more kids as the herd of no achievers while private schools consider their kids as the privileged herd.
Just look at better systems; pure academic achievements is not the only goal but also producing happy contented social individuals is just as important. The UK system is almost entirely geared to the first and pays only lip service to the second.
That is symptomatic of UK society and the work climate. Most Brits live to work. Long hours and bad employment conditions with massive social and wealth inequality. Plus now the total failure of the political system.

Got to say I agree with Scot. This is a failing of our whole social approach.

I do too as it happens. Of course the reason he proposes this view is not to get to the objective truth of the matter, but because he hates the land of his birth and goes out of his way to find ammunition - this this subject thread - viewtopic.php?f=22&t=54631&start=15#p1826775
People would take him a little more seriously if that wasn’t the case.

The trouble is your emotions override your reason and people perceive your posts as twisted and bitter and don’t take them seriously as a result. You can’t even refrain from a personal attempt at an insult in a response which agrees with you.
You should read a couple of reviews of the 2018 Mondeo by the way - not that you will, as your prejudices might be challenged. I know you ran away from this country long time ago. Things have moved on a bit old timer.

Don't be silly. Unless a vehicle is made by the Van Doorne's Aanhangwagen Fabriek (DAF) in either Eindhoven or Born it does not qualify to be regarded as a car. DAFs are economical, luxurious and even the 1974 model is technologically light years ahead of the rest of the world's automotive industry. It's transmission consists of a pair of rubber bands, which obviates the need of a differential. Ingenious.

Unfortunately, Volvo bought DAF and eventually forced its factories to produce Volvos only, so the days when you could buy a brand new proper car are over. That's the only reason there's a market for pretend cars like the Mondeo today.

Dont need cars so why would I look? I can live very easily without them as opposed to the lovely organised country you live in. I can go anywhere in Europe at a drop of a hat and do.
Mondeo man is a well known term here and there is nothing positive about it. It is the car of salesmen.
I was only born in the UK and lived there for the first 17 years of my life so stop going on as if I owe it anything. I am not emotional at all about it so where the fuck do you get that idea?

The ‘Mondeo man’ stereotype used to be as you describe it here too- many years ago. As I say, you are out of touch. The ‘salesmen’ you refer to are more likely to drive an SUV these days. Still you love your stereotypes and your mindsets. Makes the world a simpler place to deal with maybe.Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 10:57 amDont need cars so why would I look? I’ve rarely seen more cars and busier roads than in the Netherlands.

As to your emotional ranting - well your words speak for themselves.
