Hey, did you see the CIA has said they believe the prince ordered the hit? I'm glad they cleared that up, I was worried it may have been a nonpartisan group of concerned Saudi citizens, as is so often the case.
I was given a year of free milkshakes once. The year passed and I hadn’t bothered to get even one.

Trump'll fix it!
Like fuck, he will. Trump couldn'd fix a dry Martini in any of his own bars. He had almost two years, during which he knew Assange's whereabouts all along. Obama would have organised a helicopter to land on the embassy, and a team of navy grunts to shoot everyone on their way to their target, kill Assy, drag his carcase into the chopper, then onto a ship and dump it somewhere at sea. Finally, Bammy would have called the press in to gloat about it.

The days of Nürnberg type show-trials went out at the latest with the summary execution of Nguyễn Văn Lém on the 1st of February 1968. The executioner, chief of the Republic of Vietnam National Police Brigadier General Nguyễn Ngọc Loan later explained that he did so because he believed the Americans wanted him to do it. He was right. When Saigon fell into the hands of the Vietnamese he fled to the US and lived his days out in Burke, Virginia without ever being deported back to Vietnam for a trial. The US government doesn't mind injustice as long as it serves its interests.

I wonder if he's concluded that the current US administration probably won't put much effort into seeking an extradition, and/or are probably less than enthusiastic prosecuting him either?

If you're a US media star who has spent 2 years claiming to be so concerned about press freedoms over Trump's mean tweets about your friends, but don't raise your voice in protest over this grave attack on press freedom, take a hard look in the mirror

It's a fairly big issue, this -- https://www.mediaite.com/online/glenn-g ... ournalism/

The indictment is seeking to get around the press freedom issue, by charging Assange with hacking and conspiracy to hack. https://www.justice.gov/usao-edva/press ... 1/download They basically say that Assange tried to help Manning crack a password.

You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

So Assange is accused of aiding Chelsea Manning in password cracking? That's an interesting twist. I wonder if he told Manning about the Linux CD trick, or if she already knew it?

It was the Trump administration that made the decision to press charges, after the Obama administration had declined to do so, specifically because of the issue of freedom of the press. Entirely in keeping with Trump's authoritarian aspirations and hatred of the free press. I've never been a particular supporter of Assange, but I hope that the UK doesn't agree to extradite him.
