well, plenty electrons to go by, I'm pretty sure we're not going to get short of those any time soon, though it might be a good idea to de acidize sea water and use the ions so gathered to renew the supply.

Glad I'm not paying the bill. There's a charge for electrons.

No one is disputing that biblical literalists do not cherry pick the bits that they want to be literal about, and quietly ignore the rest. But, other than confirming their cognitive dissonance, it's an argument which takes us nowhere...
In all fairness, is there an argument on Ratz that takes us other than nowhere?
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

A black woman was beaten by a white man with a gun. Police charged her with damaging his truck.

I read Coito Two's book. Well, I listened to its Youtube version. Once you ignore the anti-Semitic aspect - admittedly a major part of the presentation - this is it:

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

I think I read an article by that guy moaning about "sameness" in modern pop. Or someone with the same arguments. He needs to get out of the bubble more. This is an amazing time for music. So much richness, talent, and diversity out there. Every day Spotify throws up new bands based on my preferences who I certainly wouldn't've heard of, being older and out of the loop. Music from all over the World.

I haven't listened to the radio in years.

*Funnily these great bands never appear in New Music every Friday so Spotify isn't immune to putting what the industry wants front and centre. The way to do it is listen to what you already know and eventually targeted playlists appeared. Including alternative playlists of genres you don t usually listen to but it thinks you'll like.

One of the funny things is that much of the criticism made by today's right wing nuts was originally made by those archetypical cultural Marxists, a.k.a. The Frankfurt School, in the 1960s. Not just the homogenisation of popular music, but the rejection of postmodernism. It's been documented, with the relevant quotes, in that Youtube clip.

And yes, they were right then and they are right now. You're talking about the fringe market. They are talking about the 95% of music sales.

Yeah. I watched the whole thing. Loaded with irony, and paints many on the right as unwitting proponents of Nazi propoganda whether they realise it or not.
