I get the vibe that it's going to be surprisingly great or piss poor terrible. No inbetween. Trailer looks promising, but there's so much potential for it all to go downhill.

Will watch it at least.

Insecty aliens will annoy me. Especially since I know, for a FACT I might add, that aliens would have a different evolution and look like nothing that we know.

I so want to see this movie. Not since Cloverfield have I been so excited to see a film.
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

If anyone ever asks you what urban combat is like, from the view of the participants, show them "Cloverfield". It's damn close.

Moon is a wonderful film, I highly recommend it.

I saw the first trailer for District 9 and I am avoiding all others 'cause I don't wanna get too hyped-up about it. Two intelligent sci-fi movies in one year? :o
I shouldn't even be commenting here in case I get a little over-excited.
At least I'm housebroken.

According to Wikipedia:

"District 9 is a 2009 science fiction film directed by Neill Blomkamp, released August 13, 2009 internationally and August 14, 2009 in North America."

Somehow, the UK is getting it early September! What the hell is that all about!? :mob:

I was under the impression that Jackson was directing. That's not so? So what exactly is the role of "producer"? I've always been a little vague on that.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

As for Moon, I keep hearing great things (from people I actually trust to recommend good films) and it does look great from the clips I've seen etc. But I can't help thinking... Man in the loneliest situation, strange robot/computer on the ship...

Maybe it's only a little similar, but I can't help but be distracted by the similarities to my fave sci-fi book: 2001.

Producer is the guy who gets the funding together. Executive producer is the guy who decides how the money is spent.
