Re: Yet more problematic stuff
Sometimes I'm more upset by the amount space something like Islam takes up in my head compared to my life in the real world. It always feels like manipulation. I mean, how did something which has so little impact on my life day to day, year to year, come to occupy so much of my headspace? (psst, it doesn't really, but it could and has in the past)

I couldn't give a shit about Islam. I don't see them as any significant threat. And people who are worried about them always come across as scared shitless to me. And scared shitless people are more worrisome to me than some abstract group like "Muslims". Frightened people are unpredictable. I'm just glad they don't have access to heavy weaponry in this country.

Tell the people from Maghreb to Persia in the 7th century... they certainly had interesting things to say about islam and muslims... and to muslim, that century of conquests still is the muslim golden legend.

I don't live in the 7th century. I'm not worried about Moors or Crusaders.

I'll never forgive the Mongolians for what Genghis Khan did to Khorasan. I just can't let it go.

well, Ani, given the number of muslims who seem to believe in earnest that jihad is a command to do bloody war on the infidel, maybe you should.

Nah. I won't lose sleep over them. I work with Etihad, Emirates, Ethiopian, Qatar Airways in an international airport. I work with Muslims day in and out. They don't bother me in the slightest.

Ethiopian are Christian anyway, a weird variation but Christian nonetheless, they even claim to keep the Arch of the Covenant in a cathedral in Axum

Do liberals (in your understanding) tolerate all views? Even illiberal ones?
I gave you a chance to back that up. You sent me a link to him saying something nasty about a religion (not about a race)Rum wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 7:34 amWell you should accept that you are wrong. He’s a racist shit bag first and foremost.Cunt wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 6:01 amI've heard people say that about him, but as to his own words, he sounds like he hates Islam, and certain crimes against children.pErvinalia wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 5:35 amTommy Robinson is a racist shitbag. I'm nothing like him.
Maybe you saw the racist parts, but I didn't. I saw some really irregular legal proceedings, brought to us by the country who arrests people for 'mis-gendering' on twitter.
You convinced me that he was NOT racist, because of the quality of 'evidence' you had available.
Again though, I'm not surprised. If they can jail him for filming convicted felons, they can jail you for not toeing the official line.
You mean like, forbidding you from drawing their prophet, or otherwise insulting their dead pedophile?Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 7:47 amI am the same Jim. I will never be tolerant of islam but muslims like xtians in day to day life I have little problem except when expect special treatment for being a xtian or muslim.
Yeah, that seems a bit of 'special treatment'. I could even insult your whole COUNTRY with imputiny, probably IN your government offices...but don't draw the dead pedophile OR ELSE!
Makes sense. So many people are accused it lost meaning.Hermit wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 8:04 amVery recently I have decided to drop accusations of racism, at least in most cases. Most racists are sufficiently skilled dogwhistlers to plausibly - though by no means convincingly - deny that they are. I am content to show them up as xenophobes. It is a lot more difficult for them to deny that they are that, and for almost all intents and purposes it amounts to much the same. One need not be a racist in order to march down the street with Tiki torches and recite "Jews will not replace us" in unison, or even approve of them being gassed. Xenophobia can take one that far.
It's like any word that gets overused. Try crying 'wolf' over and over, and even that scary beast won't get you many re-tweets after awhile.
Re: Yet more problematic stuff
Are you afraid to publicly draw Mohommad sitting down to a plate of bacon and eggs, then post it in public?Animavore wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 1:52 pmI couldn't give a shit about Islam. Or is it not fear, more a reluctance to show that you have not submitted to their authoritarian nonsense?

That's not a normal thing to wonder about. It's fine if it crosses your mind, but if you find yourself consistently wondering about that sort of thing then you've been mind-fucked. There's just no good reason for some guy living in the middle of nowhere in Canada to be so concerned about Islam.
You're being manipulated.
