Well, if Rachel Maddow said it, you just know it isn't biased.
If it's Reagan, it's also a movie
No one could match the Gipper when it came to concocting whoppers.

It was Reagan, you might remember, who told an annual meeting of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society about a World War II B-17 commander who elected to stay with a wounded crewman rather than bail out of his stricken plane. "He took the boy's hand and said, 'Never mind, son, we'll ride it down together.' Congressional Medal of Honor, posthumously awarded."

Actually, Congressional Medal of Honor never awarded. There's some dispute about where Reagan got the story. Some said it was from the 1944 movie "A Wing and a Prayer" while others cited a Reader's Digest item. Whatever its source, Reagan's account was not true.
The 1951 movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" fixated Reagan on the notion that the United States and the Soviet Union would be forced to cooperate if our little planet was faced by an invasion from space. Even Reagan's advocacy of the so-called Star Wars program probably got its inspiration from his 1940 movie "Murder in the Air." It featured an "Inertia Projector," a kind of ray gun.

In Reagan's case, these stories were dismissed by his supporters and characterized as charming eccentricities. Yet, some of the same people and editorial organs now get the vapors when confronting one of Al Gore's exaggerations. Gore, for some reason, is a liar while Reagan was just a marvelous storyteller.

Who sends those twitters out? A moron serving a moron.
It must be why nearly all your posts here are about Trump. I theorize that you have a big old man crush, and you are hoping he notices you.

Sorry, Scot Dutchy, I don't think he frequents this forum. Maybe you should try saying these things where he could possibly hear you.
So, no comment about Trump's actual tweet?

It looked like he made a spelling error, or autocorrect fucked him (as it does all of us, on occasion)

I don't credit it as being his tweet yet though. If I cared, I would go into twitter, see if it really did look like his tweet (would you believe, there are lots of fakes?)

Why is it a big deal again? Because he doesn't kowtow to the 'Global Warming Congregation'? I'm not surprised. With mainstream media pushing so much bullshit, I don't mind if anyone dismisses whatever they might be pushing.

I have been pretty cold this winter, too. Maybe it's climate change, pushing back global warming...

Or maybe either phrase is a bullshit shortcut to talk about complicated matters.

Mueller can take his time. He has to wait until CNN is ready to cover a move before he makes it, so it's good he has a lot of time.

Using "ah gee, it's so cold right now" as an argument against climate change is mindless garbage. What it requires is good data over a long period of time, and the statistical expertise to analyse it...

and it's been stated already that the last 4 years were among the 5 hottest ever since measurements started being taken, extra cold and violent winters may be a counterpart to this, though my ignorance of climate science does not let me tell anything serious on the matter.

That only tells us what happened.

What's going to happen is a different beast.

Predictions are crappy, and may get better, but I have no reason to trust the government on this. The climate change agenda is pushed in very similar ways to the other, more clearly political agendas (globalism, anti-Trump or Brexit) so it is every bit as suspicious.

The changes Al Gore demonstrated to us all (by his life) show us what he believes about it. It seems to me that it is at odds with what he said.

I mean, unless I missed the talk where he said you should use LOTS of fuel for your personal life.

And did he really get loads of cash for promoting this particular agenda? If he got rich off it, then doesn't follow his own expressed ethics, I'll keep him and his pet theory on the same level as any other celebrity who says what earns them money.

The consensus among climate scientists is solid, and it goes like this:

1. Increasing CO2 levels, via humans burning increasing amounts of fossil fuels are causing increased average global temperatures by a very well established mechanism.

2. As we continue to add more CO2 to the atmosphere, the warming effect will steadily increase. A variety of models are used, they all show the same thing.

3. The effects of warming will be deleterious in a variety of ways to both human civilisation and the global ecosystem.

It is straightforward science, no conspiracy theories needed. If you find certain people like Gore hypocritical because their actions do not match their rhetoric, this adds nothing to any debate about global warming.
