I respect them. I just think the salaries they get are too tempting. It would be much better if they were motivated by other than big juicy paychecks...or at least forced to index their fat paychecks to a reasonable standard...like what welfare recipients are expected to live on.

Compared to December 2015 - 292,000, it does not look so extraordinary. And yes, if you look at the first chart on this page, it seems many of the jobs are seasonal. Employment figures have been dropping in nine of the past ten Januaries.

Also, look at the second graph of the same page. The unemployment rate has dropped steadily from its peak of 10% in January 2009 to 4.8% in January 2017.

I mean, the fact that they make way over 100,000 taxbucks a year is outrageous, but the raises they are getting are in line with what I expect in new salary negotiations.

I would like to tie government workers salaries to welfare recipients allottment. If they want a raise for themselves, raise the bottom-most people up with them, or fuck off.

It's not so much the amount, but the timing, and the fact that federal employee pay growth has trailed inflation for five years or so, and that last August Trump said he intended to scrap the yearly increment for the federal workforce (except the military).
