Trump Presidency In A Tailspin As Just 22% Will Definitely Support Him In 2020
According to a CAPS/Harris survey obtained by The Hill, Democrats will start the presidential election with a major advantage.

The poll found, “Thirty-three percent said they would ‘definitely’ vote for the Democrat in that race, while 11 percent who will ‘probably’ vote for Trump’s eventual Democratic opponent.”

For Trump, the “definitely” number stands at just 22 percent with another 11 percent saying they will “probably” support his re-election.
(up to 10% more would "maybe" vote for Trump as well)

So Trump works through the shutdown, goes to visit armed soldiers working the front lines for the USA, moves to get the Coast Guard paid during the shutdown (wrote something I think) and generally acts work-y.

What is that Pelosi up to? Expensive vacation resort?

I read that he allowed the soldiers to keep their arms, because their job required them to be armed in that area.

Trump is treating the public discourse with his opponents like a World Wrestling Federation big event. It is something he is better at than most of his opponents. It's a tough thing to counter, if you try to stick to reason. He seems to be winning the publicity circus pretty regularly.

It's fun to watch.

I hope my US friends can enjoy it as much as we who live outside the country.

There's nothing enjoyable about watching a dangerous idiot trample all over democratic norms and further polarise the country.

If he says 'illegal immigrants' and the Democrats hear 'people of color', which is showing racist tendencies?

Too clever by far for Trump. The Repugs character assignation of her failed. Trump's arse must be twittering by now as tomorrow is pay back time. The lame duck president becomes even lamer.

Not to mention the antics of his supporters who cheer this scumbag on.

I honestly don't think I'll ever trust America ever again. I certainly don't view them in the same light any more. I definitely fall into the category of of people believing that the US is now the biggest treat to the security of the World and regard their deliberate, wanton environmental destruction should be grounds to declare sanctions and boycotts.

It's a shame we've allowed one nation to become so powerful in the World that too many are dependant on them for business such that the powers that be don't have the balls to go against them because the money men won't allow it. The sooner we can ween ourselves off their power and influence and forge a path ahead for ourselves into a hopefully sustainable future the better.

Pelosi vs Trump battle this week:
It's a theory that will be put to the test when the new House Democratic majority gavels in this week and votes to end the government shutdown without money for President Donald Trump's border wall with Mexico.

The high-stakes move to reopen the government will be the first big battle between Trump and Pelosi as Democrats come into control ready to reassert the power of the legislative branch and confront the White House.

Trump is counting on public support as he holds out for $5 billion to build the wall. He's signaled he's in no rush to give up on a signature campaign issue as he launches his own re-election bid in 2020. But Pelosi just as strongly believes the public will be on Democrats' side as they try to get government working again, and move on to health care and other priorities — including oversight of the White House.
