Its a game he plays with himself: "I wish I was anywhere else". Then he realises for a brief moment the shit he is in.
A bit like Orange Individual 1 who can never realises where he is. Life is a blur. Mueller is a blur.
Oh, yes, it would be a joy to live in your little Dutch hovel. I'm so envious. :coffeespray:

Look I only read your posts 42 when others quote them as they are no worth relying to them. You have an extremely warped view of the world. Try improving your third situation before trying to criticise the civilised world.
LOL! That's quite funny! Scot Dutchy accusing someone else of having a "warped view of the world." Sure, go on back to your tiny, insular echo chamber, Dutchy. Keep on reinforcing your preconceptions. Oops, gotta go. I have a gunfight at high noon to get to, and it takes a while to navigate the fresh bodies left in the street by our sub-third-world health care system. Thanks for the chuckle. "civilised world" lol - riots in the streets because of a gas tax that would raise the price of gas few Euros a tankful. Civilized world! :hilarious:

Tear gas on migrants... just looking for a better life... tsk tsk tsk.... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldn ... tures.html

Reminds one of Auschwitz. This is what totalitarian dictators do!
"The French people want a complete political transformation. They want to change the way things have been for the last 30 years. We're sick and tired of taxes being raised and the quality of public services going down."
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-46439469

These darn protesters - they're just way off base! Don't they know they live in the civilized world, where the higher taxes are a trade-off for better government support? Quality of public services is going down? They must be wrong? A 30 year systemic problem, such that they need a "complete political transformation?" That's absurd! The way the French have done things in the last 30 years is the way everyone else should be doing things! It's one of the best countries in continental Europe, for crying out loud! Others should be completely transforming their politics such that it reflects the French model, not the other way 'round!

.... oops, gotta go. Let me head out, leave the doors unlocked at home (since the chance of anyone trying to break in my house is between 0 and 0.001%), and I'll go fill up my gas tank for 50 cents a liter. LOL - I just checked today, and most stations around town are priced from $2.09 a gallon to $2.19 per gallon, thereabouts. What's it in France, almost that much per liter? How civilized. I'd love to live in a town where I have to check my monthly budget to see if I have enough money for the gasoline needed to drive to the local shops.

Y'all have the system perfected, that's for sure.

It is really is pathetic. An American saying Europe is scary. FFS :funny:
I'm not an American, but it's the riots, tear gas and stun grenades that would scare me.

I suppose it's just normal life over there though. What's next? An app to report any who criticize the UN policy on migration?

Some guy just claimed to me, that 'the great unwashed' referred to people who had not been baptized.

Funny I never thought of that before. I just thought it meant frenchmen...

Great unwashed - I always thought it meant the vulgar provincials - the commoners. I was making kind of a play on words concerning the insistence by some Europeans that showers/baths are either excessive or even injurious to health. LOL. As a two shower a day person, myself, I have never really understood the aversion to rinsing off. If one showers in the morning, and then at night when you're climbing into bed the day's sweat and dirt is all over. A quick rinse and it it's so much nicer. Then getting ready in the morning, and out the door - it actually speeds the process just to take a quick shower. Jump in there, soap up and rinse off -- otherwise there is mussing with the bed-head hair and spot washing pits and such - it's just not worth it. Just take a quick shower. But, the Europeans want to think they're saving the world, one shower not taken at a time.

Do you take a shower sat/sun without fail? I must admit that as a student I don't even take one every day m-f. I demand to be made an honorary Frenchman.
The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

Showering too often can dry out your skin. I hope you moisturize 42!

My routine is as follows: I get up around 7, get outta bed around 9, I don't worry 'bout nuthin', no, cuz, worryin's a waste 'o my time... errr.. ahem... no that's not it....

I get up before sunrise -- usually by 530am, drop a deuce, and immediate shower, shave, brush teeth, get dressed, grab something to eat, and get to work. Sometimes, if the deuce isn't ready, a quick breakfast and coffee first, then deuce, shower, shave, teeth, dressed, and to work. I go to bed around 11pm give or take, and as soon as the kids are done and in jammies, I do a quick evening rinse and put on my own sleepwear. Done.

Nope. Never "moisturize," and I never have experienced any issue with my skin. I find that moisturizer isn't really "moisturizing" anything, but rather lubricating and putting a layer of cream on top of the skin.

I don't see how a few minutes in the shower per day can possibly have a significant effect of drying out the skin. I grew up spending summers pretty much submerged in water for hours every day, and never had any sign that some sort of cream was necessary to fix "dried out" skin. I would often spend hours at a time in a pool, chlorinated pool, and still never had that issue. My showers last all of five minutes each, probably less.

I would like to see some data on this "too much water on your skin makes it dry" (not just theory, but a test where X number of people shower for 10 minutes a day, and X number don't, and see if there is any detectable difference in their skin). Were I a bettin' man, I know exactly where my money would be.

I believe it's the soap that steals away natural oils from the skin, not so much the water.
