I'm staunchly pro-life. Well, my own, anyway. Other people not so much.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

A lot more students have voted since the last time I asked. Man, wouldn't it be something if Cruz loses?
Not likely.
The city always goes Democrat.

Not likely.

Re: US 2018 November elections
I probably wouldn't care so much if they weren't allowed to serve so long, ya know? I understand the need for a few long timers. But the majority should be what, 2-3 years then you're out for good. Or even better, just replace them all with quarters. We still need experts, use the best Universities for that to decide what we're flipping on, but let the quarters have the final say.
I'm telling you, man, my world would be a better world.

How much longer will Shep Smith be allowed to keep telling the truth on Fox News?
Fox News' Shep Smith rejects Trump's migrant caravan claims: 'There is no invasion'

Fox News' Shep Smith rejects Trump's migrant caravan claims: 'There is no invasion'
https://theweek.com/speedreads/804610/f ... o-invasion
When Smith came on the air later, he reminded viewers that the 3,000 to 4,000 migrants "are more than two months away, if any of them actually come here, but tomorrow is one week before the midterm election, which is what all of this is about. There is no invasion. No one is coming to get you. There is nothing at all to worry about." The same pearl-clutching over migrants happened in April, Smith said, and after "they got us all riled up," it resulted in 14 arrests. "We're America," he said. "We can handle it. But, like I said, it's a week until the election."

American hero Sully Sullenberger does not like Trump!
We saved 155 lives on the Hudson. Now let’s vote for leaders who’ll protect us all.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions ... story.html
I am often told how calm I sounded speaking to passengers, crew and air traffic control during the emergency. In every situation, but especially challenging ones, a leader sets the tone and must create an environment in which all can do their best. You get what you project. Whether it is calm and confidence — or fear, anger and hatred — people will respond in kind. Courage can be contagious.
Today, tragically, too many people in power are projecting the worst. Many are cowardly, complicit enablers, acting against the interests of the United States, our allies and democracy; encouraging extremists at home and emboldening our adversaries abroad; and threatening the livability of our planet. Many do not respect the offices they hold; they lack — or disregard — a basic knowledge of history, science and leadership; and they act impulsively, worsening a toxic political environment.
As a result, we are in a struggle for who and what we are as a people. We have lost what in the military we call unit cohesion. The fabric of our nation is under attack, while shame — a timeless beacon of right and wrong — seems dead.
This is not the America I know and love. We’re better than this. Our ideals, shared facts and common humanity are what bind us together as a nation and a people. Not one of these values is a political issue, but the lack of them is.
This current absence of civic virtues is not normal, and we must not allow it to become normal. We must rededicate ourselves to the ideals, values and norms that unite us and upon which our democracy depends. We must be engaged and informed voters, and we must get our information from credible, reputable sources.

People who kick anti-abortionists are left-wing terrorists.
People who send pipe bombs to Democrats and Democrat Party supporters are mad, lone wolves.

Re: US 2018 November elections
My wife has been supporting our Senate candidate. It's a long shot. The farmers and ranchers are not hurting enough yet. It would have been a better campaign in 2020 with the Democrats turning out and all the farmers wives voting against their husbands. They pay the bills and know what health insurance costs.
Anyway, we have supported enough, but I got my credit card out the first time and gave a small amount to Heitkamp.

I'll be donating more in 2020. By then I'll save hundreds of dollars each month by being on Medicare. If it survives.

I think the person who sent the fake bombs was a terrorist - he was using the threat of violence to scare people, apparently for some sort of political end or motive. So, Cesar what'shisface was a pretty good example of a terrorist. Where did I suggest otherwise?
The double standard here is from the folks who think it's fair dinkum to ridicule and mock right wingers who do fucked up stuff, but then on the other hand think we should downplay and not ridicule or mock left wingers who do fucked up stuff. Usually it's because the left are considered the good guys.

Anyone who pays the bills and knows what health insurance costs is sure to vote Republican. The Democrats tripled and quadrupled people's bills.

You described the kicker as "a leftist pro-abortion protester" here, and the bomber as a nutcase there. Re: US 2018 November elections
Dude, I mean, what are you on about? Where I call the right wing terrorist guy a "nutcase" (the two categories are not mutually exclusive), is in a very evenhanded post of mine where I start out by saying I do not ascribe the actions of such people to the entire left or the entire right.Hermit wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 3:21 pmYou described the kicker as "a leftist pro-abortion protester" here, and the bomber as a nutcase there. Not calling the roundhouse kick guy a "nutcase" is actually being less harsh toward him than to the whackjob, basement dweller Cesar whatshisface.
Also, do you believe either of them are nutcases? Do you believe either of them are protesters (one right wing and one left)?
I do. I think the fuckwit Cesar who was delivering "suspicious packages" to a bunch of people to scare the shit out of them is a fucking nutcase. I think they need to lock him away. I also think he's a right wing protester, according to his published statements and stickers/decals and such.
I also think Roundhouse kick guy is a protester, but he's left wing. Is he a "nutcase?" I really don't know, and I dont' think I have enough info to say he's a nutcase. The Cesar dickhead was on steroids, and had behavioral problems for decades, and his former lawyer said he needed mental help, and if you look at his van - covered in all that material - that's not normal - and everyone who has mentioned that they knew him said he was a scary guy - and his boss, the lesbian, described him in terms that are synonymous with "nutcase."
I don't need to call every fuckwit in the world a "nutcase" in order to be consistent. There are nutcases here and nutcases there, but not everyone who is violent is a nutcase. I don't think the Trump supporter who punched the anti-Trump protester at a rally in 2016 is necessarily a "nutcase." He might be, but unless we get the kind of information we have about Cesar Fuckface, I can't really base it on anything.
What's your view of Roundhouse kick guy? How would you describe him? Do you see any material differences between that fuckwit, and the fuckwit suspicious package distributor?

It turns out my credit card got blocked for some fraudulent use on line Google store. Now they call me. I did get the small amt sent to Heitkamp.(New card coming in mail. ) She is 5-10% behind in polls, so a lot closer than my own local candidate, getting at best 40% polling.

Your double standard. It's a common tactic to associate despicable behaviour with a group you don't like and disassociate despicable behaviour from a group you do like. That is precisely what you are doing. You described the kicker as "a leftist pro-abortion protester", and the bomber as a nutcase. The double standard can't be more blatant.Forty Two wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 5:44 pmDude, I mean, what are you on about?Hermit wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 3:21 pmYou described the kicker as "a leftist pro-abortion protester" here, and the bomber as a nutcase there.
