He was born in 1930, so I guess he could have been an SS officer in 1945, at the age of 15. They were scraping the bottom of the barrel then.
Strictly speaking, he could not. Soros was 14 when the WWII ended in Europe. But that's just a quibble. More importantly, even at their most desperate, that is with the announcement of the Volkssturm on 16 October 1944, the Nazis limited the intake to people over 16 and under 60. It is of course possible that in their desperation they ignored the the age limit if a 14 year made himself available to serve as an ordnance absorption device, but even then they would not second him to the SS. He'd be allotted to some ordinary Wehrmacht unit instead. Lastly, before anyone gets to the level of Unterscharführer, the equivalent of Corporal, he'd have to filter upwards through five other SS ranks, and do so in the ten months Germany occupied Hungary.
Anyway, all of this is utter bullshit. There is not a shred of evidence indicating that Soros served in the SS or even an ordinary Wehrmacht unit. The Nazis were extremely thorough with paperwork to the bitter end. Had any allegations been true some piece of paper with his name on it would have surfaced by now, even if it were just a list of unit members, the sold they've been paid or whatever. Even the alleged photo of him fails with a cursory Google search.
No, this is not Unterscharführer George Soros. It is Unterscharführer
Oskar Gröning. He was nine years older than Soros.
