What is an NPC?
Non-Playable Character - meaning those people in a video game that just sort of walk around in the background, following predetermined movements, and only reacting when encountering a player character, and then they say or do what the program tells them to do.

The meme originated on 4chan or reddit with this cartoon:

Image

It quickly expanded into the various NPCs parrotting "orange man bad," and things like "racist," "sexist," and "xenophobic," and whatever the mainstream/left leaning media says they should think.

This must have struck a nerve, because people immediately became very upset, and in true "progressive" fashion, suddenly the meme was hate speech and "dehumanizing." They were getting upset that it was painging their anti-trump views as mere parroting and mindless blathering.

That led to their objections being melded into the original meme, for obvious humorous reasons....

Image

Like every "progressive sjw" thing, it becomes about how oppressed they are by something silly.

Image

....and now you have major media outlets like NYTimes, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, etc., hand-wringing over a juvenile "meme" aimed at poking fun at a political group (loose as it may be). Obviously, it's getting the attention in the media, because so many of the media personnel feel that they are being targeted by the meme for ridicule. That means the meme "punches down" and doesn't speak "truth to power", so it's "dehumanizing" and of course amounts to hate speech, and it's "far right" and the like.

...which leads, of course, for obvious reasons, to more versions of the meme, and the program runs again.
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

OK now I get it. It's triggering. Poor babies.

Two more months till we're on the boat, sooner if I get my ass in gear and replace the aft head black lines. Can't wait. On the boat "NPC" Means "Nautical Person, Content".
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Turning to the MAGAbomber now. He wasn't a right wing protester, I suppose. Just some random nutcase, right?
Yes, just as I do not ascribe the nutcases on the left to "everyone who considers himself left wing," I don't ascribe a right wing nutcase to everyone who considers himself right wing.

From the information in the media, it does seem he was quite a nutcase. https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/ ... 14565.html A long time loner with mental problems, living in a fantasy world. First registered as a Republican 11 days before the 2016 election, so he wouldn't even have been allowed to cast a ballot for Trump in 2016, because Florida residents must register at least 29 days before the election. He has a long history of weird crimes, and he has a long history of threatening people.

The guy sent 11 "bombs" (weird, bomb-looking things) - bot not a single one of them exploded. I am not even sure from the reports if they were capable of exploding, absent being set on fire.

He is a nutcase.
And now we have been provided with the definitive assesment we can get back to focusing on the real villains of the piece, the progressive menace and their unreasonable attitudes towards the dressing up box.

Yes. The MAGAbomber is a nutcase. And the bloke who kicked a camera out of an anti-abortionist's hands is a leftist pro-abortion protester. I agree with both. I also regard the former as a right wing Trump supporter and the latter as a nutcase. In short, your choice of labelling each is telling more about you than the people you label.

I'm prepared to accept that there are, on occasions, wheels within wheels, and disinformation at times from various players.
But it is rank lunacy to see conspiracy theories behind every major event that plays out in this sorry world...
Brian Peacock wrote:

The conspiracy theory is an irrational but comforting reaction to fears about an inability to control and influence others, events, and the world around us. It is an attempt to impose order onto that which resists order, to render the complex simple, and to place the individual at the centre of important events. In ascribing a motivating agency to circumstance and happenstance the conspiracy theory is the basis of all religious ideology - describing both how the world is and how it should be.
It's also easier to replace facts with fictions and rail against those myths than to actually take responsibility for one's own procrastinating impotence and wilful ignorance.
Then consider me (as you already do) a rank lunatic. Galaxian regards most major social events on this planet, perhaps as much as 90%, on a day to day basis, to be contrived by those in power. Call it 'conspiracies' by those in power, that you are not privy to. Even if you are some way up in the intelligence services; you're still a mere disposable operative...

The lower echelons simply follow orders, assuming, as you do, that the orders are well meant and genuinely for the common weal. Or they're ambitious or greedy fools. Or they're simply too stupid, like soldiers, to see how they're used. They cannot see the machinations behind the curtain, and do not suspect that there are such devices.

You have the evidence in your face, but choose not to acknowledge it. Here you go:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declassification
https://www.abroadintheyard.com/histori ... year-rule/
https://www.abroadintheyard.com/histori ... year-rule/

As you see in the above articles, thousands of files are kept from the public eye for however long the government wants... even for hundreds of years.

Then IF and when your lords & masters finally deem you entitled to see them, the file would have vanished; fallen behind the filing cabinet, lost in a fire, lost in a flood, mislaid, etc, etc. Any cock & bull excuse will do. After all, who the fuck are you to demand ANYTHING from the elite, from the 'powers that be'. "Here you go, you fuckwits. You livestock, you beasts on two legs..." :
Image

And the above is a reasonably transparent one. There are many documents that are totally blacked out, even when a hundred years old. And there are many others that are simply denied to exist (even when there are historical references to them), or have simply disappeared.

Then on top of that, you have NO idea if what you have been shown is genuine, either in whole or in part, or has simply been concocted... such as the 2005 London bombing videos. Those are the documents or sound tracks or videos or even "witnesses" that magically appear out of nowhere, such as the Osama bin Laden clips from long after he had died in Afghanistan in December 2001. Fraudulent inventions to serve the authorities. Who can deny their veracity? You? Ha ha... you don't deny ANYTHING that's spoon fed to you by the sanitized mass media.

But keep smokin' the dope fellas! Keep simplifying the complex, contrary to Galaxian's signature, below. :coffee:

It is kind of funny that people who staunchly support the sitting president as well as the political party that controls all three branches of government fancy themselves freethinking mavericks. It would seem to me that support for a conservative party whose objective is to preserve the status quo would make you exactly the opposite of a maverick.
It's as weird as the left becoming the thought police.

I just heard Bill Maher accuse the left of that. He was chatting with Sam Harris.

It sure seems true, doesn't it? The left is attacking anyone who says the wrong word. Even comediens are not safe. Fucking SEINFELD won't play colleges anymore. His act is so clean it whitens TEETH.

Who are the "real villains?"

Is there not enough focus on non-progressive villains?

Dice was intersectionally quite advanced...

Jack and Jill went up the hill each with a buck and a quarter. Jill came down with $2.50. Oh! - see, he respected sex work quite a bit.

"I like a bush. A nice big, hairy, stinky, smelly fucking bush. And I hate when they put cologne on it. They dummy it up with cologne like you don’t know where you are. I like that nice natural scent of salmon." - decades ahead of his time, as now the feminists are against shaving and have pointed out how sexist it is to suggest that women's natural odors should be in any way masked or covered up.

He's basically a feminist.

I met a women, while running the ice road, who was wearing a pussy hat. She asked if I knew what it was, and I said 'a hat?'. She explained what it was, and I pointed out my red buff (neck tube) and told her I called it my 'foreskin', since it bunched up, framing my face, it kind of looks like one (if I were a dick head). Also, the frost build-up around the edge adds to it, I think.

She didn't stay around. I wonder if she remembered.
