I heard someone having a laugh about her heritage claims, who didn't think it got her the university job. His position was that the university just used her (soft, unverified) claim to meet some 'diversity goal'.

So shouldn't the university be held to account for fudging their diversity numbers?

Maybe someone should do a diversity audit of places to see whether they truly are diverse, or whether they just accept claims like these to quiet the plebes...
