I really don't understand victims of abuse who are hoping for the Church to repair itself rather than just leaving an organisation that abused them.

Anyway the consensus among them is that his words aren't enough.

I imagine for many there's some sort of unrealistic desire that the Pope and the church can somehow heal them and take away the trauma of their abuse. It isn't realistic is it?

The funniest part of yesterday's news coverage was watching RTÉ squirming with Frankie's use of the word "caca".

"He basically called priests who raped children something you'd find in a toilet" and other cute euphemisms.
