Pence we can deal with. The worst he can do is get the Abortion Banning Judge seated.

The campaign rallies now make sense. They are the only way Trump can save his Political Ass.
Politico reporter
”By the time Trump climbed the steps to the plane, the rain had slowed but the rumors had picked up. He gave a thumbs up as we shouted questions.

The presidency seemed on some sort of brink. But I was trapped on a plane with a silent president, no phone and no Wi-Fi.
At the airport in Charleston, W.Va., the president finally stopped to chat with his traveling press.

“I must tell you that Paul Manafort is a good man,” he said. The appearance lasted less than two minutes.

We hopped into the motorcade and transcribed our tapes.

I was determined to get some reaction from Trump supporters at the campaign rally. From the confines of the press pen, I cast my hook, with a smile and wave, toward a couple guys in suits. They didn’t bite.
But here was Trump, finally, walking up to the podium. In the few hours since he’d left Washington, his former campaign manager had become a felon, his onetime fixer had implicated him in an election-related crime and yet another staunch political ally was facing criminal charges.
“U.S.A.!” the crowd chanted.

A fellow reporter wondered aloud if Trump would pardon Manafort on live TV. The president talked about the gross domestic product.

Finally, at 7:50 p.m., Trump turned to the news of the day. My adrenaline kicked in.

“Where’s the collusion? We want to find the collusion!,” Trump thundered. The crowd went nuts.

But it was over in less than a minute. Trump had already changed the subject.

“The beating heart of this election is border security,” he said. “We have to have it.”

Trump talked about North Korea and Elton John. The crowd turned to boo at us again. The president talked about real estate and NATO.

“What’s going on?” another reporter asked. I had no idea.

It was 8:08 p.m. I couldn’t concentrate. The president talked about his mom. “She made the greatest turkey you ever had.”

Wait – he was talking about Chevys again. In Beijing, a Chevrolet Camaro costs $119,000, he said.

It was 8:13 p.m. and by now a lot of people were sitting down. A guy in a blue blazer thumbed through his phone, oblivious to Trump’s applause lines.
You’re the elite,” Trump said. “You’re the super elite!”

“I have a lot more money than they do. I have a much better education than they have. I’m smarter than they are. I have many, much more beautiful homes than they do. I have a better apartment at the top of Fifth Avenue. Why the hell are they the elite? Tell me. Because you're the elite, just remember that. You're the elite. They're not the elite.”

The crowd cheered. Trump talked about carpenters and coal miners and ministers and metal workers. The crowd cheered some more.

Perhaps. It's obvious what Trump is: he broadcasts it for all the world to see. He appeals only to the dumbarses of this world and those who make capital out of his stupidity and ignorance.

Meanwhile, Pence is keeping very quiet and perhaps biding his time...

I've started a new thread on Pence here.

I'm starting to like this Cuomo guy. Trump is a fucking dirtbag of the highest order.

“I use once again the obvious litmus test of imagination: Let’s imagine Hillary Clinton was in the Oval Office and her campaign chairman had just been found guilty of eight counts in federal court; imagine that her personal lawyer had given her up and accused her of directing the lawyer to commit a federal crime.

There would be pitchforks in the hands of every Republican in Congress. There would be hearings as we speak. There would be demands for her to resign or to be impeached. “

Three months ago Rudy G told Fox & Friends that Trump personally reimbursed Cohen for the hushmoney payments to the women Trump claims he didn't sleep with, but today on the same show Trump first denied all knowledge of the payments made by Cohen only to then say that the payments “came from me” and therefore weren't illegal.

If nothing else, he certainly gives the impression of being a pathological confabulist...

Nah, Trump isn't a racist despite decades of chiming in on racist talking points. If you think otherwise it's just Trump Derangement Syndrome, how many times do you people have to be reminded?

'ADL Extremely Troubled by President's Tweet on South Africa'
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today issued the following statement concerning President Trump’s tweet on alleged land and farm seizures, and “large scale killing of farmers,” of white farmers in South Africa:

It is extremely disturbing that the President of the United States echoed a longstanding and false white supremacist claim that South Africa’s white farmers are targets of large-scale, racially-motivated killings by South Africa’s black majority.

White supremacists in the United States have made such claims for years. In early 2012, ADL’s Center on Extremism documented how white supremacists in the United States were gearing up for protests as part of something they termed the “South Africa Project (SAP).” The goal of the organizers, which included representatives from major neo-Nazi, racist skinhead, "traditional white supremacist," Christian Identity groups, as well as racist prison gangs, was to stop the alleged ‘genocide of Whites’ in South Africa. The protests originated in 2011 at the hands of Monica Stone, a long-time member of the Louisiana-based white supremacist Christian Defense League and immigrant from South Africa.

Since then, white supremacist references to “genocide” in South Africa have been common. Richard Spencer, for example, focused on the plight of the “Boers” in South Africa in his March speech at Michigan State University, suggesting the United States might see something similar.

We would hope that the President would try to understand the facts and realities of the situation in South Africa, rather than repeat disturbing, racially divisive talking points used most frequently by white supremacists.
