Our summer

Post by Rum » Sun Jul 22, 2018 8:50 pm

It has been wonderful as far as I'm concerned. Three months of warm and sometimes hot weather, next to no rain and the snow and rain of January a memory.

It ain't however normal. Here's us.

Yeah, is weird, here, we had a horrid spring full of rain and storms and hail and whatnot, while Sweden had drought and currently suffers from forest fires...

We are heading to the mid thirties. Our big water reserve is the IJsselmeer plus the major rivers are still reasonably full. It is very dry but nowhere near a crisis.

same here, the Seine is not too low, except when you compare to the levels it reached late this winter.

The river barges are still going which is always a good sign but they are taking slightly less cargo.

The summer in the British Columbia interior has been fairly pleasant. Mid 20s, but we are getting a lot of rain this year.

Still it beats the hell out of being evacuated and staying in a hotel for 5 weeks, wondering if your home has been burned down.

I am not looking forward to Thursday. We will be in almost unknown area of upper 30's.
I know plenty of places have that but our cities and houses are just not built for it.

We need one of these: a mas Provençal

That's gorgeous. Couldn't live there, I'd just sit in the garden and drink wine all day. And eat snails. God, I love snails.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
