I'm sick to death of the fucking hypocrisy of the whole sordid mess, you cannot get away from it no matter how hard you try. I'm not a political person, I don't hold an ideological position other than "Leave me the fuck alone" (if that can be considered an ideology - I guess it can). We've become, pretty much, recluses, because no matter where you go or what you do you'll get smacked in the face with somebody's political outrage. It's probably worse now than any other time I can remember, but not by that much. It was like this from the time I can remember, and I'm fucking done with it. I don't watch the news and barely read it. I skim Fox, CNN, and BBC, and try to tease out a bit of actual fact from the avalanche of opinion, innuendo, and outright lies that pass as "news", but it's getting more difficult to get past the lurid headlines. Fuck it, we're out of here just as soon as we're able. Unfortunately not fast enough to suit me despite our best efforts. Looks like next year at the earliest, so I'll have to live through another election cycle. Help me sweet Baby Jesus. We'll get on the boat in November, maybe that will suffice.
