They create it as well. Sorry to spoil the illusion. No guns no war. Quite simple. Dont buy the realpolitik thing. More bollocks as far as I am concerned dreamt up by the generals. They are mad about their war games and developing new toys.

no guns no war? man, you are a bit out of the game... man made war for millenia before guns were invented, man probably making war even back when stone axes and fire hardened spears were the latest high tech.

The idiot is at it again. Just lying lying.

Trump says Germany ‘totally controlled’ by Russia in extraordinary tirade at start of Nato summit
Angela Merkel responds that: 'I've experienced myself a part of Germany controlled by the Soviet Union and I'm very happy today that we are united in freedom as the Federal Republic of Germany'

Some of Mr Trump’s assertions, unsurprisingly, were incorrect. He claimed that “Germany is getting 60 to 70 per cent of their energy from Russia and a new pipeline” - in reality around 20 per cent of German energy use is from oil and gas imports from Russia.
Does he really think people in Europe are listening to him.

Realpolitik is a lot older than generals and the armaments industry. It began well before the Moriori, a people who lived by a code of non-violence and passive resistance - and had no weapons - were wiped out by a Māori tribe from the Taranaki region of the North Island of New Zealand for the simple reason that being unarmed, the Moriori made for an easy conquest.

In a way that was an exceptional event. The Moriori were not even motivated by the prospect of conquering wealth of any sort. This was sheer blood-lust. Long before that occurrence wars were motivated by the promise of conquering a land of milk and honey, fertile lands, oil fields, salt mines, gold and whatnot. The armaments industries were not the cause of wars. They were facilitators exploiting a desire.

What happened in New Zealand happened in New Zealand. This is the 21st century. Time to change the record.

No matter what happened in NZ, (the genocide of the Maoriori did not happen in NZ, by the way) this point remains true: The arms industry does not cause wars. It facilitates them. It has always been thus. Wars have happened for millennia before that 21st century you want to focus on all of a sudden.

Guess who is going to be buying all of that US LNG? NATO. More expensive than piped in Russian gas? Don't care, traitor :funny:

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

That was then. You dont get it. History does not count anymore. Manipulation started with the first world war. Generals were bored and arms manufacturers wanted new weapons tested. So propaganda was developed and treaties were signed. It was a totally unnecessary war but lead to the second world war. Do you really think WW3 would have started? Would any sane person want to blow up the world?
Today manipulating markets did not happen back then. Weapon manufacturers are leading not facilitating. They help to produce the propaganda. Take a cold look at world politics. Just who are the aggressors and why? Who benefits from war? Who wants chaos?

Would you care for some Canadian crude? Shipping from Pacific Canada to anywhere in the world. We've got coal too, if you want to make synthetics.
