Yeah, Crazy Train Bolton thinks the solution to all our problems is another war or two. What's so dangerous about these wackos is how they make the G. W. Bush era neocons look like elder statesmen.

I was listening to an interview with Bill Kristol , the guy who founded The Weekly Standard. I had to remind myself, this guy used to be considered batshit. Now, he sounds like the voice of reason. :sulk:
Well, any Hillary supporter loves what Bill Kristol says, so long as they don't know it's Bill Kristol saying it. Hillary Clinton's foreign policies are neoconservative. Bill Kristol is the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) dude. He was a Hillary supporter during the election.

Put Donald Trump in the lead, and even Politico is going to start sucking Bill Kristol's dick. https://www.politico.com/magazine/story ... ics-214025 Bill Kristol became a "courteous intellectual who loves operat and Greek philosophy..." -- rather than a neoconservative war hawk who facilitates a war based on lies. Bill Kristol became the "generalissimo of the #NeverTrump movement as he called the mogul “loathsome,” “a con man” and “a charlatan and a demagogue” who is “soiling the robe of conservatism.”"

It's odd that the folks talking about how intellectual and competent Bill Kristol is, were rabidly against Bill Kristol before Trump came along. Kristol hates Trump because he's not conservative. So, one would think that non-conservatives would be glad Trump is here. Either things get done, or Trump falls apart and takes the awful Republican party with him.

He urged people to vote for Hillary Clinton, and tried to bring in anti-Trump candidates to take him on, and tried to get the Republican "establishment" to reject Trump. The reality, however, is that the Republican "voters" aren't as on board with Bill Kristol's viewpoints as he might seem to think.
To Trump, Kristol is the rigged system he’s fighting against, the personification of an elite establishment overdue for a rude awakening.

And, of course, Trump’s not entirely wrong about that.
he founded the Foreign Policy Initiative, a small neoconservative think tank that has advocated military action against Syria and Iran, and cultivates young neoconservative thinkers like Jamie Fly, an early staffer who went on to become Marco Rubio’s top foreign policy aide. Kristol also co-founded the Emergency Committee for Israel, a nonprofit advocacy group that mounted a fierce—Democrats say slimy—campaign against President Obama’s 2013 nomination of Chuck Hagel to be defense secretary, including a full-page New York Times ad calling Hagel “anti-Israel.” The group also spent nearly $1 million in 2014 to help elect Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, a former Army Ranger and a friend of Kristol’s. (Cotton consulted with Kristol last year while drafting the controversial letter he sent to the Supreme Leader of Iran opposing the nuclear deal.) Kristol is famously chummy with a slew of conservative benefactors, like the New York investment titans Paul Singer, Ira Rennert and Dan Loeb, the publisher-scion Steve Forbes and the Florida shopping-mall magnate Mel Sembler. One well-connected conservative chuckled at the memory of Kristol holding court for gaggles of starry-eyed donors in the hallways of the conservative American Enterprise Institute’s annual retreat in Sea Island, Georgia, this past March. But even the Obama White House has sought his ear: In 2009, Kristol had breakfast in the White House mess with Obama national security aides Denis McDonough and Ben Rhodes, who saw him as an ally in Obama’s plan to send more troops to Afghanistan.
If you want American ground troops in in Syria and Iran, then go with Kristol and his gang.
“I think I'm probably closer to Hillary Clinton than to Donald Trump on foreign policy, and maybe trade,” he said. “If it were a domestic policy election, I probably...would vote for Trump. If it were a pure foreign policy election, I'd probably...vote for Hillary Clinton.”
https://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/ ... ump-226089

The policy positions of Bill Kristol, PNAC - neoconservative extraordinaire - Axis of Evil takedown guy, are closer to Hillary Clinton than to Trump. Chew on that for a while.

This is no surprise to anyone paying attention Forty Two. Clinton's long been a hawk, and PNAC was a bipartisan affair.

"Clinton's long been a hawk" doesn't fit the narrative 42 tries to push here on ratz. He thinks that just because we all hate Trump, that we must love Hillary. It's why he gets caught out making patently outrageous statements like the one highlighted in my signature. He just can't understand how a left or centre-left person can't uncritically love Obama, because all he sees on the media are reports of either how wonderful Obama is, or the Fox style narrative that the left is uncritical of him. 42 is basically Seth-lite.

Saying Clinton was a hawk does not help the Trump supporter's argument. The claim from Trumpers was that they were supporting Trump because he wasn't a hawk.

Pointing out Clinton is a hawk too only confirms you voted for Trump on a false premise. And leads everyone else to wonder why they stick by someone who lied to them.

Unless, of course, to reiterate; their reasons they claimed for voting Trump were never really what they said.

Yes, indeed. And, he's talking peace and denuclearization with Kim Jong Un, and he's keeping US troops out of Syria. We finished off what Obama started with ISIS in Syria, and there is no indication that another Libya is in the offing.

Two years into his first term, Obama was already invading a new country (with France and Britain, and the rest of NATO), Libya, with no WMD, no UN approval, and no Congressional declaration. He also spearheaded the US intervention into Syria on behalf of "Rebels" (terrorist groups looking to depose the Russian supported dictator). And, in 2016, Obama directed US military attacks on Yemen. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... t-conflict

So far, Trump is bringing the DPRK to the bargaining table for denuclearization, and is keeping us out of new places.

Why is fake news trying to undermine the Golden One's quest for peace in our time?
Kim's tunnel explosions a goodwill gesture? Not so fast

Washington (CNN)What first appeared to be a gesture indicating North Korea might be willing to dismantle its nuclear weapons program appears to have been little more than a propaganda effort for the world's cameras.

Billing it as an exercise in transparency, North Korean officials invited international journalists to witness the detonation of their underground nuclear test tunnels at Punggye-ri -- but intelligence has increasingly shown that the public spectacle may have amounted to little more than a show, according to US intelligence and international arms control officials.
...
Preliminary analysis of North Korea's detonation indicates the explosions were not strong enough to destroy the tunnels, a US official with knowledge of the findings told CNN.

The analysis is based on seismic sensors in the region that calculated how large the explosive events were at the time.

This may be one of the clearest indications that at least portions of the tunnel complex remain usable, something the US had suspected since the North Koreans allowed media to view the detonations.

US officials have also confirmed that imagery shows technical equipment was removed from the tunnel complex prior to the detonations, indicating the North Koreans were keeping gear for potential reuse.
I can't say I'd be surprised if this is true. The North Koreans have long been sneaky. :prof:

There has also been speculation about radiation leaking from the underground site and possibly affecting China as well as NK itself and that blowing up the mountain above it will stop any leakage.

Wait, they were expected to blow up their equipment too!? Jesus, can't they at least salvage it?

As for being sneaky, we're across the world reading seismic data --seismic data-- to determine if Koreans have done what they said they would, and Americans think it's just another day in god's paradise. Talk about a bunch of psychotic control freaks.

""Clinton's long been a hawk" doesn't fit the narrative 42 tries to push here on ratz..." Uh, it does fit my viewpoint. She is a hawk. I don't push a narrative, though, although some here certainly do.

I don't think you "must" love Hillary, and I don't lump everyone together. One mistake made is to think that someone like pErvin is part of a "we" here on the forum; however, most of the members here are unlike pErvin. The posts about Hillary and Bill Kristol and the like have nothing to do with who "loves" Hillary or anyone else. It's about their viewpoints.

I haven't ever said that I think left of center people can't uncritically love Obama. I find it amazing, of course, how much water mainstream media sources carry for Obama, and I think the people here that tend to berate me regularly are unable to think in anything close to an objective manner. But, that's not an indictment of everyone else here on the forum.

I'm responding there to this from Joe - "This is no surprise to anyone paying attention Forty Two. Clinton's long been a hawk,..", which was a response to you declaring Clinton a hawk by way of rebuttal, as if that is some sort of revelation to us.
One mistake made is to think that someone like pErvin is part of a "we" here on the forum; however, most of the members here are unlike pErvin.
:funny: I love how you think that you aren't out on your own here on this forum. There's you, and then there's the rest of us. The rest of us aren't the same, but we are very similar when it comes to our views of your politics and posting behaviour. It doesn't really matter, but I only say this because you keep pretending to be unaware of the reality here.
I find it amazing, of course, how much water mainstream media sources carry for Obama, and I think the people here that tend to berate me regularly are unable to think in anything close to an objective manner.
That is genuinely, ironically, funny! You are, without doubt, the most biased person on this forum. You have almost zero objectivity. Nearly everything is hyper-partisan to you..
