Stupidest idea of the month...so far
Re: Stupidest idea of the month...so far
The Daily Fail and The Mirror. Well, I suppose it's not quite as bad as Breitbart and InfoWars. If only because they aren't as blatant about their Nazism and conspiracies (all respectively).

Oh fuck, I saw that the other day. And I did note that she had purple hair.Strontium Dog wrote: ↑Thu May 10, 2018 4:19 pmhttps://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-new ... 511101.amp
It will come as absolutely no surprise to anyone that she has purple hair.'I'm going to change your nappy, is that OK?': Expert claims parents should ask babies for permission before changing diaper
A sexuality expert has said parents should ask babies for their permission before changing their nappies in order to set up a culture of consent from birth.

Is it wrong that I want to punch people like that?

It's not even that crazy FFS! Don't get your knickers in a twist. Some people suggest we paddle kids. Others tell kids they should be seen and not heard. Whose kids do you think are more at risk when they get older?

'Selective eating disorder'. Yep - the twats have given kids being fussy and needing a good slap - a medical name. Fuckwits.

Yeah. Need a good slap. That works.
My mother once held my nose and tried force me to eat my veg. Scarred me for a long time. I was a picky eater well into my late 20s.
I'd much rather a caring mother or father who gets around children using their brain than someone like my mum who would always beat me and force me to do things against my will. You give kids the illusion of choice. You ask them what they want and give less palatable choices than the one you want them to go for. And yes; you ask for consent rather than move in for things like hugs.

well, not only have I been a picky eater for 50 years, back when I was a kid, I also was the fastest filled stomach in the West... I nhever was hungry and was filled up with half a normal serving... I'm still a picky eater, but I eat a lot more nowadays.

Clearly I don’t condone ‘slapping’ a kid who is a fussy eater. My annoyance is with the medicalisation of a perfectly ordinary and usually transitory part of childhood.Animavore wrote: ↑Thu May 10, 2018 6:41 pmYeah. Need a good slap. That works.

How an you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?
Just make the food and feed it to them. If they don't eat it then they go hungry.

Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Sounds to me like this guy is trying to sell a 2-hour therapy session he promises will help them. Oh come on, Ani, FFS! It is batshit crazy, and you know it. It is a big reach to somehow equate that bit of nonsense with the valid debate about smacking vs not smacking...

It's not that crazy at all to me. I don't know any such thing.
People's hysterical reactions to it are crazier to me.

Changed many nappies have you, Ani?
So, asking a baby for permission before changing its nappy isn't crazy? The problem with such a ridiculous extension of "progressive" thought is that it will convince the vast majority who hear such utter tosh that the more moderate and reasonable suggestions coming from progressives are tarred with the same irrational brush...

Deanne Carson is letting the politically correct bandwagon carry her into cloud cuckoo territory. You don't ask a newborn for permission to change nappies. You smile at it, make it laugh if possible and say things like "coochie coochie coo, who is a pretty baby now", sing to it, or whatever. Connection made aplenty and babies just love all of that.
