It's the definition of "proof" that I'm addressing.

It's gone out of the window in recent years, over cases of sexual assault.
It's supposed to be proof beyond reasonable doubt.

Apparently, there's not the slightest reasonable chance that Cosby was telling the truth, and the woman was lying for the money. Or that the bunch of other lying bitches, who said nothing for YEARS, suddenly remember that they were drugged and raped by a multi millionaire.

If I was Cosby, I would cash in all my assets and buy a huge motor yacht, take it out into the Atlantic, and sink it without insurance.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Credible witnesses?

Or is this just another one of your conspiracy theories?

Cosby's innocent.

How the fuck can you be "proven guilty" when it's one person's word against another.
(or in this case, one RICH person's word, against a bunch of lying thieving women and their grasping lawyers)
...because the evidence and testimony involved more than one person's word against another - that would be the most obvious answer. Generally, one person's word against another leaves reasonable doubt. However, if you have other testimony and corroboration, doubts can be removed.

And, as such, the prosecution brought forth its witnesses and other evidence, and the Defendant had the opportunity to cross examine the witnesses and present exculpatory evidence if they chose to.

What do you mean by "it is an American court?"

If I was Cosby, I would cash in all my assets and buy a huge motor yacht, take it out into the Atlantic, and sink it without insurance.
The judge allowed testimony from five other women besides Constand as the prosecution set out to prove Cosby’s pattern of sexual predation. This is going to be an interesting feature of an appeal, because usually testimony of "other similar acts" is not admissible to prove "action in conformity therewith." This is called Rule 404 evidence, and other acts are admissible if offered to prove other things, "motive, opportunity, intent, preparation, plan, knowledge, identity, absence of mistake, or lack of accident." I don't think "pattern of sexual predation" makes the other acts admissible, because the risk is that a defendant will be convicted of the pattern and not the crime charged. It is admissible to prove "plan" or "preparation" though, and that is probably where the prosecutor got the evidence admitted.

Now, I can't find any detailed summary of the evidence offered against Cosby, yet. But, if they didn't have anything other than Constand's word against Cosby, and the testimony of 5 other decades old unproven allegations to back up a "pattern," then I think there is an issue on appeal. However, if there were other pieces of evidence that lent weight to Constand's allegations -- like if they got some information about his settlement with her in, and if testimony about phone calls where he makes some creepy statements to Constand's mother and such got in, the case could be built.

it was a long trial - they must have introduced something into evidence.

On what do you base that allegation, other than your prejudice?

Dumbest juries in the world.

OJ Simpson not guilty, and Bill Cosby guilty.

That says it all.

Are you engaging in victim blaming or just saying that US criminal justice is fatally flawed and biased against the wealthy? :tea:
